23. Connected

I watch as the baby monkey tries to jump up into my other raised hand, once I became alpha the monkeys soon found where I was and followed me here, most of them hang about in the meadow behind the pack house and on the balcony of my room, some venture within my room but as soon as they hear someone else they scatter, so I'm currently on the balcony teaching the little baby monkey how to jump using only my hands.
It's been probably a week since we have been here, me and Caleb are as close as ever let's just say when we fully connected about five days ago it was off this world's feeling, we both screamed that loud, that guards opposite the pack land heard us and burst into our room while we were huddled together, they were dismissed red faced.
But now I feel stronger than ever, it felt more than love, I could feel him when he was close or far, I could tell his mood when he was near without even looking at him, we can't do that link thing though that werewolves can do.
We both decided that since this is us now we should always be in a tank top and shorts as it's just easier for us, Caleb is always in his usual top with two slots in the back for his wings and and a little cylinder slit in his shorts for his tail, but with me I had a bit of a kriss crossed section across my back where my wings could easily move about, and the shorts was high waisted that settles just at my belly button, my top and shorts was all tight fitting for the stream lined effect which also shows off my curves that I have gained, weird since when I was first kidnapped I was as flat as a pancake but now I got a body a girl would kill for. And for my shoes I had on tight tight looking things that had the shape of my two front toes so that it makes for easier running and perching comfortably in trees, it also had small holes where my claws coul easily extend outwards, Caleb's got a pair too.

I look up as the mother and toddler monkey jump onto the balcony and comes over handing me some berries, I gladly take them and feed the baby monkey, it's hesitant at first but it takes it and eats.

I turn my head as Caleb comes through the doors and gives me a quick peck on the lips,
"How are you buttercup", he asks as he plays with my hair,
"Never better", I say as I smile warmly up at him, a knock sounds from inside and he gives me another peck on the cheek and heads inside, I look back down at the baby monkey sloppily eating the berry that looks massive in it's tiny fingers, I pass the other berries to the toddler and mother which they greedily take.

I look back at the door as a dazed Caleb comes through, I'm instantly on alert as I quickly stand making the small monkey sit on my shoulder, the feeling of fear rolls off of him in waves.

"The humans have found out about us, the trackers caught them looking through the woods not too far from here, they actually asked the trackers for us specifically", my heart drops at the news, he  seems to sense this as he pulls me into his embrace as I go numb,
"It's ok we are going to leave be-"he's cut off by shouting towards the front of the packhouse, we both look at each other panic washes over us, we make our way to the front balcony on the other side of the house.

We look out of the window as we see a big group of soldiers in the middle of the land and more going into houses and coming out of the surrounding woods,
"We're too late", I whisper as I head back to our room, I freeze in the hallway as I recognise the monkeys alarm call ringing throughout the house, I look towards the balcony to see the mother running through screaming the alarm call, I quickly peel the small baby off of my neck against its screams of protests and give it to the mother, she hesitates but takes it and runs off, I look up as a rope is thrown over the fence of the balcony.
I gasp as i'm pulled behind a wall and Caleb stands in front of me with his wings slightly shaking with the rush of adrenaline of his protective stance over me, he peers round the corner looking towards the balcony.

"What are we going to do?" I ask terrified that they are going to turn me into an even more of a monster,

"I don't know", he whispers as someone pushes him through and locks the door, Trey looks at us with a worried look laced through his features, Caleb remains in front of me his hand clasped in mine slightly shielding me from Trey even though he isn't a threat, turns out once we are fully connected the male is more likely to do anything to protect the female and himself obviously, but Caleb told me that it was because we are basically one it's just pure instinct to survive so he would get even more protective. It does have its quirks though, we found out that we are both a lot stronger but I'm a tad bit faster than him and agile, our bodies has also changed in a way, Caleb has gotten noticeably broader and gained a lot more muscle, my body has defined out a lot more and my wings have became more flexible making me more agile in the air, I'm more skinnier but more leaner in a way to suit my fast speed. Our feathers has also gotten a lot more healthier look to them as well, our senses have gotten sharper along with our claws, one swipe and we could easily cut through a persons neck, our jaws and canines have gotten stronger and sharper, we can both bite through a skull without using our full strength in our jaws, quite cool, and our bones has hollowed out so it's easier to fly. Overall the main difference between us is that Caleb has more strength than me while I've got the speed and agility.

"Ok so I got a plan, one of the trackers just linked me saying that they were describing you as possibly feral basically not human anymore your animals, you won't be able to escape them they have helicopters, snipers, many many soldiers here for you two so the best way is to go with them no doubt you would be able to escape so the best way is to get you two down to the cells to make it look like we have been treating you like animals too, there's a chute here that leads down to there, come on there's no time," he finishes as he leads us to a small draw space, he shoves me down and I land in a pile of clothes, I quickly crawl out into the cells area and lock myself in a cell I glance to my side to see Caleb do the same next to me as well, not too long after of waiting in the cells there were shouting and running footsteps above us and then the doors burst open revealing men with guns with flashlights attached to them, I sheild my eyes from the sudden light and I hear some men shouting to others that they found us.

One of the men flicks the light on and I back away into a corner going into my defensive posture,
"Oh god sergeant I think they are feral", I pin my eyes at an approaching figure of a man as he comes closer to the bars,
"Hey girl we are getting you out of here", he says a bit too calmly for my taste, my ears zero in on the crackling of the radio on his chest as it comes to life,
"We are not finished boys they are more scientists in the country doing the same experiments we got more people to bring back", his radio cuts off as he chews on the inside of his lip, he steps closer which makes me ruffle my feathers even more, behind him more people filter in and goggle at us,
"Wow they are beautiful"
"So majestic"
I hear a number of comments come through but I pretend not to recognise them as I keep my eyes on the man in front of me, he goes into his pocket and fetches out a wrapper of some sort, I watch as he slowly puts the wrapper inside of my cell, I cock my head as I try to see what it is, I look back up to see another man is doing the same with Caleb but he doesn't even move, I look back to the wrapper and creep forward as I keep an eye on the man in front of me, I quickly grab the wrapper and go back to the back of the cell, I look down to see it's a cadburys  chocolate bar, my eyes light up at the discovery, I jerk away at the sound of someone's voice commenting on my eyes,
"I think she's excited", the man in front of me says, oh yeah forgot they brighten at certain emotions, I hear a faint growl from beside me in a warning to leave it alone, that's another thing since we fully connected we can understand each other a lot better only using noises and not actual words, it helps with the situation we are using the certain noises for.

I huff as I throw it out of my cell, I look back towards the man in front of me as he pulls out a handgun, I look at Caleb to see the person in front of him is doing the same, then they both go off at the same time.
I growl out as I look down at a dart embedded in my skin, I pull it out and throw it back towards the man, it misses and I growl out to the them in warning, the bars and Caleb begin spinning uncontrollably , I look back to the men to see the whole room spinning, I snarl as black dots start to cloud my vision, I stumble and fall flat on my face as I see the men start to unlock the cell door, then it feels like my hearing and senses shut off with my eyesight last turning everything black.
