Note!!!
Hanami or "Flower Viewing" is one of the spring festivals in Japan and I don't have to explain you what it means but what I can tell you that this festival can be celebrated in public or just personal entourage
"Summer is right around the corner and you don't want to miss the cherry tree viewing with your loved ones before spring ends!"
You woke up from the radio broadcast. You turned off the alarm and got up. "Yuki-kun?" you looked to your side and he wasn't there. 'He must be in his studio again.' You thought and went to the small padded room Yukihiro built for his drumming session. You found him sleeping on the floor.
You walked to him and gently shook him, "Yuki-kun... wake up. It's morning.". "Five more minutes..." he groaned and squirmed. You softly giggled and picked him up then carried him to the bedroom. "Here... you go." You carefully tried to put Yukihiro on the bed but he was heavier than you that you fell on the bed with him. "I'll be back after work." You kissed his forehead and got ready for the day before going to work.
You and Yukihiro have been dating for few years now and sometimes you couldn't believe that you're dating one of Japan's top artists. Sometimes you wonder what a drummer of Yellow Magic Orchestra saw from a simple restaurant waitress like you. But nevertheless, you're really lucky to have Yukihiro by your side. He never treats you bad or you make him to spoil you.
Work was as usual as always and before you know it, your shift ends. While you were walking back, you remembered this morning's broadcast. "The cherry blossom viewing! I completely forgot!" you slapped your forehead in realization. Yukihiro and you promised to spend the day under a cherry blossom tree, having a picnic while watching the petals falling.
You check the date and you're in luck, it's still in early June then you had an idea. Both of you are really excited, especially Yukihiro. He has been reminding you about the hanami since spring began and you always said that you promised him to go to the viewing but neither of you had the time to do it. So, instead of taking the route back to Yuki's place, you went to look the perfect spot and the right tree for both of you.
(June 6th)
"Can I open my eyes now, (y/n)?" Yukihiro asked in giddy. "Not yet! We're almost there!". "You've been saying that!" he chuckled. You guide him to the spot you picked and finally told him to open his eyes. "Ta-daa!" you happily waved your arms. "And happy birthday, Yukihiro-kun." Your eyes curved to a smile. "You remembered!" Yukihiro was between surprised and in awe. You giggled and invited him to sit with you.
"I can't believe you went through all of the trouble for this." Yukihiro was still in disbelieve. "Well, you kept reminding me and I have to keep my promise." You answered. "You're the best." He smiled and you two had picnic while viewing the petals fluttering down from the branches. "I'm sorry that we're a bit late on the viewing." You apologized. "You don't have to apologize. Both of us were busy with our own schedule." He gave you a warm smile. You love his sincerity.
You made some food for today's picnic. They're nothing complex, only sandwiches, mini omelets, and octodogs while you prepared lemon iced tea for the drink. "I wish Sakamoto-kun and Hosono-san could join us." Said Yukihiro. "Me too. But I think they would ruin it in the end. We both know how they are when they're not in the same page." He nodded and agreed, "You're right. I would be the one who has to clean up after them and I don't want to get you involved."
"But I'm sure they would love your cooking!" Yukihiro then brought back the happy atmosphere. You chuckled, "I'm sure they will.". "In all of days, why did you pick my birthday?" he asked and you tell him that you wanted to make it extra special. "I love you, (y/n)." he looked at you with a warm smile. "I love you too, Yuki-kun." Once again, your eyes curved to a smile. He kissed your cheek and you two continued the picnic and wrapped the day before night falls.
A.N : I checked the internet and I think I kinda get it a bit wrong... Spring is still around... ehehe. Anyway, I decided to upload this chapter on Takahashi's birthday since I have nothing to tribute him for. Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter and I'll see you in the next one! RD out!! Boi!!!
