When the trio heard that JAPAN is in town, they stopped by to hang out. The five boys were staying in a resort with their two special guests a.k.a members, Masami Tsuchiya and Hajime Tachibana. Haruomi, Yukihiro, and Ryuichi arrived at the resort and David Sylvian with the boys were already waiting for Yellow Magic Orchestra's arrival.
"You three finally came!" David happily greeted. "It's nice to see the three of you again." Steve also greeted and Yuki said the same to JAPAN. Masami and Tachibana also greeted the three and all of them had a little chat before deciding to play something. "How about we play pool?". "Don't you think the room will be too crowded with all ten of us there?" Rob shared his concerns to Mick. "Masami and I can play ping-pong in the other room with the trio." Tachibana suggested and the rest agreed.
JAPAN went to the pool room while YMO with Masami and Tachibana went to the room where the place puts the ping-pong table. Yukihiro was paired with Ryuichi while Masami was with Tachibana. Haruomi was the umpire but he also holds the racket if either Yuki or Ryuichi wants to switch. "Are we going to play normal ping-pong or do you guys have something else in mind?" asked Masami.
Ryuichi thought for a moment then explained that they will play with every topic that was given by the umpire, the players have to mention the things related to it while hitting the ball. Masami and Tachibana agreed and the game started when Haru gave the first topic, "Our main instruments.". "Drums." Said Yuki with a serve. "Guitar.". "Piano." Ryuichi parried the ball after Masami's shot. "Saxophone!" Tachibana shot a strike, startling Yuki and Ryuichi. Masami and Tachibana got the first score.
"JAPAN members." Haru gave the second topic and Tachibana did the serve, "Rob Dean.". "Sylvian." Once again, Ryuichi parried the ball. "Masami Tsuchiya." Masami said his name and parried the ball then Yuki quickly returned it, "Steve Jansen!". "Barbieri!" shouted Tachibana. "Mick Karn!" Ryuichi shot a strike and the ball flew to Masami, almost hitting him. Haru then picked an easier topic, colors and the four played while mentioning any colors that came first on their head until Yuki forgot to answer after he parried the ball.
He quickly realized it and face planted himself on the table. The rest laughed then Yuki switched places with Haru. "Countries of the world." Yuki gave the topic and Haru did the first serve with Japan. "America.". "France." Said Ryuichi after Tachibana. Masami answered China while Haru replied with India. "England!" Masami striked back and the ball hit Haru, which surprised him a bit.
"YMO and JAPAN albums." Said Yuki and Haru served, "Technodelic.". Masami hit back with Quiet Life and Ryuichi parried with Multiples. "Nightporter!" Tachibana shouted and Masami corrected that it's a song title, not an album. The two teams then had a small break and Yuki wanted to switch back with Haru. The two teams sat down and cool themselves with a drink.
They took their places again and were ready to play. "YMO members." Haruomi gave the last topic and Yuki did the serve while saying his name. "Sakamoto-san." Masami hit the ball back and Ryuichi parry back but he forgot to say his or Haru's name. "Sakamoto..." he quickly realized and threw himself on the table while Yukihiro threw himself on the floor. Masami and Tachibana laughed while Haru shook his head.
"What happened here?" asked David, entering the room and saw Yuki and Ryuichi. Both men stood up and told David that they were just playing. "Looks like you guys had fun." David teased and giggled. "You can say it like that." Masami commented with a chuckle.
