[CW// Politics]

Posters and banners were seen in every streets and alleys all over the town. Everyone is excited for the election for the new mayor. A lot of well-known people were running for mayor and one of those people is the famous bass player and the leader of pioneer band Yellow Magic Orchestra, Haruomi Hosono.

Every participant you found them doing their campaign, mostly putting up banners and posters to promote themselves. Some you found doing charity or volunteering as well as putting up their faces on paper and hung them up. "Who are you going to vote, (y/n)?" Asked Izumi, your roommate. "I don't know. There are a lot of them offering good qualities." You answered.

"You better make up your mind quick. The election is in a few weeks." Izumi reminded you. "What if I can't make up my mind at all?". "Well, you can't just eenie-meenie-miney-mo in voting." You then threw back her question if you actually can. "Be reasonable." Izumi playfully punched your arm and you chuckled as a response.

Izumi does have a point though. The election is a serious event and you can't just pick randomly or it would turn out for the worse. "Who are you going to vote, Izumi?" you asked and she told you who she's voting for. You thought the candidate is pretty good and there are a lot of people supporting them. "How about yourself?" Izumi asked you back. "I think I'm going to vote for Hosono-san." You gave your answer.

"Him? I doubt that he'll win...". "What? Is it because he's a musician and not a politician?" you argued back. "It's the same saying that any simpleton can run for mayor.". "What if they have a good and effective work ethics? At least those helps." The two of you then had a small debate. Izumi felt that your choice is sketchy since Hosono didn't do anything much for his campaign which you argued back that his contribution in music is more than enough.

"That's for a totally different thing! He doesn't even have something that actually promotes himself for the election!" Izumi half screamed but you didn't mind it. politics aren't really a thing for you. The two of you then continued your walk then you heard something coming from the TV shop. In one of the televisions put on display was broadcasting a video and it was Haruomi Hosono's campaign video.

"Hey, look at this!" Izumi stopped and both of you watched the video. The video started with a clip of people riding a tank then transitioned to a room with a podium surrounded by microphones around it then Hosono popped up behind the podium followed with an applause. He then sang through the entire video and the title of it was "Tokyo Rush".

The video consisted mostly of Hosono singing with small dances then at the end changed to a scene where he was playing a toy grand piano. You silently chuckled as a response after watching it but Izumi seemed to disagree. "What in the world was that?". "I think that it was pretty neat." You shared your opinion. "That was ridiculous! He wasn't even being serious in this!" you started to think that Izumi was getting a tad too serious about this.

She then started ranting on how unprofessional it looked and you had to stop her. "How about we just see the results on the election day?". "Is that a bet?" you said no because you didn't want any trouble. Izumi sighed, "Fine. Don't get your hopes too high." And warned. "You too then." You simply smiled as a response. The two of you then walked back to your apartment.

The campaign went for the next two months and when the election day arrived, both you and Izumi voted your candidates of choice. Izumi was surprised when she found out Hosono actually won.
