Finally landing in Australia felt amazing. The flight felt long and Beth was tired as was Jack and Angelina. They had managed to get her to sleep most of the time so they wouldn't bother the other people on the flight. They had made it, finally.
They had to wait in the airport for a while for their luggage and Beth was becoming restless. She really wanted to get out of this place and to their new home so she could finally see where she would be starting her new life. When the luggage belt began moving, she let out a sigh of relief. They got their suitcases and made their way out the front where Jack got them a taxi.
The drive was quite long but she could see they were going into a suburban area which looked like something out of a movie.
"We're here," Jack said as the taxi stopped outside a nice big house.
"Wow" Beth said letting out a breath
Beth climbed out of the taxi with Angelina in her arms as Jack paid for it. The neighbourhood looked amazing and family friendly and nothing like they had lived in before. There were kids running around at the bottom of the road and some people standing at their front doors watching what was going on.
Jack got the suitcases and wheeled them up the path to the door with the taxi driver helping as they had more cases than they could handle. Jack gave him an extra tip for helping and once he had left, he gave Beth the key. She opened the door and was delighted at what she saw when the door opened.
The house was amazing inside. It was already decorated and furnished and ready for them to live in. Beth left Jack downstairs as she wandered off upstairs to see what the rooms were like. She heard the doorbell go as she was up there but she left Jack to get it.
There was a beautifully made up master bedroom which would obviously be Jack and Beth's room. Angelina's room was next to theirs and it was almost just like the one they had back in their old home. It was perfect. There was an extra couple of bedrooms that they would figure out what to do with later and two bathrooms. Beth loved it.
She decided to go back downstairs and see who had been at the door. Jack was talking to a man and woman who were beaming with happiness.
"Beth, come meet our neighbours" Jack said as she walked down the stairs
Beth smiled at them as she stood next to Jack.
"Lovely to meet you Beth, I'm Lucy and this is my husband Dave" Lucy smiled
"Nice to meet you both" Beth smiled as she shook their hands as best as she could with Angelina still in her arms
"Is this your baby? She's beautiful" Lucy said
"Yeah, this is little Angelina" Jack nodded
"She's amazing, she will be growing up in a lovely neighbourhood, I'm sure you guys will love it here" Dave said
"That's great, that's exactly what we wanted" Jack said
They talked for a while and Jack finally got rid of them, telling them they really needed to unpack their things.
"Oh fuck they're annoying" Jack breathed out once the door was shut
"They're not that bad" Beth said
"Really?" Jack asked raising an eyebrow at her
"Okay, they're annoying but its not as bad as people wanting to kill us so lighten up" Beth said
"They remind me of Mary and Ronald, Remember those nuts?" Jack asked
"Of course i do but still" Beth said
"Fair enough, here give me Angelina and I'll set up her baby seat, you can take the suitcase upstairs" Jack said
"Thank you for that job" Beth sighed going to get the suitcases from the hall
Once Beth finally got them upstairs, she didn't even start unpacking. Instead she looked out the window down at the street. The place looked perfect until a car drove up to the house across from them. A woman got out and went round to the other side of the car to help her drunk husband out of the car. Although quite sad, this gave Beth a slight thrill knowing that this place wasn't as perfect as it seemed. She still needed some drama in her life after the life she had been living with Jack the years before.
"Not unpacking I see" Jack said entering their room
"Where's Angelina?" Beth asked
"In her cot, playing with a stuffed giraffe, she's chilling" Jack nodded coming up behind her.
He put his head on her shoulder and his hands around her waist.
"Looks like the neighbourhood isn't as perfect as it seems" Jack said looking down at the drunk man and the woman who were now arguing in front of their house
"That's what i was thinking, we need a little drama in our life" Beth said
"This will be the perfect place for us then" Jack smiled
Beth couldn't wait to tell Arianna about this place and how annoying their neighbours were. She missed her already and it was sad she wasn't here for her to bitch to whenever she needed to but they would get in contact with her and the boys soon. The first thing on Jack and Beth's agenda was to get unpacking and get settled into their new home. Also get settled into their new life as a normal married couple. They would need to remember to never bring up anything of what they used to be so they wouldn't be the crazy neighbours. They were a normal and happy family and that's what they would be telling people.
They could be their crazy selfs behind closed doors, of course. That would never change.
