Chapter Nine

Beth was awoken in the middle of the night with a slight pain in her stomach. She looked at the clock and it was only midnight. She made her way out of the bed and off to the bathroom. As she walked there she could hear recognisable voices downstairs. The boys were here.

She shut the bathroom door and sat down on the toilet and the pain in her stomach increased. Something didn't feel right. She looked down at the toilet and saw blood in the water. Something was definitely not right. The pain shot across her lower stomach again making her groan in pain.

"Jack!!!" Beth shouted in panic

"What is it baby?" Jack shouted up. He could hear his footsteps on the stairs. "Where are you?"

"Bathroom" Beth groaned

"What's wrong?" Jack asked appearing at the door

"There's something wrong" Beth sobbed holding her stomach at she held onto the sink

Jack's eyes widened at the blood.

"Doctors, now" Jack said grabbing her hand

He helped her downstairs and to get some shoes on.

"Whats happening?" Liam asked appearing at the living room door with Noah and Andrew

"There's something wrong, there's blood and pain" Jack said looking rather panicked

"We'll stay here and watch the house" Noah said "I'll call Arianna and she'll meet you at the doctors"

Jack got Beth out of the house and into the car quickly and without any pain. He drove quickly to the doctors building and took her into the A&E part.

"My wife, shes pregnant and there's something wrong" Jack stated as they got to the reception

"Get her on here" A doctor said appearing with a wheelchair

Beth sat down on the chair and was wheeled away from Jack and taken into a room without him. Arianna came in shortly after Beth was set up on a bed and told her that Jack wasn't allowed in yet because it could be something serious. She really wanted him here.

Jack was told he wasn't allowed in the room with his pregnant and upset wife and that pissed him off to no end. Luckily Arianna was able to calm him down before she entered the room to go help with Beth. Jack was worried, blood is never a good sign and they couldn't lose the baby straight after finding out that they were having a girl.

He sat with his head in his hands for a while before someone stood in front of him and coughed as if they wanted his attention. He looked up to see an elderly doctor looking down at him.

"Is this seat taken?" He asked pointing to the see next to Jack

"No, go ahead" Jack said.

He sat next to him in silence for a while and Jack wondered why he wasn't working and just sitting here with him as he panicked about Beth.

"Is your wife giving birth?" The man asked

"No, there's something wrong" Jack said letting out a shaky sigh

"I've been there" He nodded

"Really?" Jack asked

"Yeah, long time ago my wife and I lost a baby actually, destroyed us for a while" He said

"Oh, I'm sorry" Jack said. This wasn't doing anything to make him feel better.

"No need, I'm here today because my baby is now having a baby, I'm lucky i was on shift when she went into labour, going to be a grandad" He said

"That's great, I'm happy for you" Jack nodded

"You're Noah's brother right? Jack?" He asked

"Yeah, how did you know?" Jack asked

"You're talked about a lot, also Noah is always here picking up Arianna and of course you look very similar" He said

"Yeah, a good brother he is," Jack said

"If you're just as much as a good guy as him, you'll make an amazing father" He said

"If there isn't any complications" Jack sighed

"Even if there is, you'll get through it, you're a tough guy and everything will work out in the end" He said patting Jack's shoulder

"Thanks" Jack said, giving him a small smile.

Just as Jack looked up Arianna came out of the room Beth was in with no expression on her face. She was too good at this, showing no emotion so no one could make assumptions. She smiled at Jack and just walked past not saying a word about anything that had happened in there. Then again she wasn't the main doctor working with Beth today.

When the other doctor came out of the room and told Jack, he could go in, he jumped up and the man who was next to him wished him good luck.

Beth was sitting up on the bed with her hands on her swollen baby bump and smiling.

"You're okay?" Jack asked making her look up at him

"We're fine" Beth nodded

"What happened?" Jack asked sitting next to her on the bed

"The pain was braxton hicks contractions, nothing to worry about" Beth said "And the blood was a tear in the womb which is fine now but unlucky for both of us.."

"What?" Jack asked

"No sex until the baby has come because my womb is weak" Beth said

"Damn your weak womb," Jack said shaking his head "How are we going to survive?" he joked

"We will somehow" Beth giggled "We'll just need to take it easy for a while"

"Right, as long as you and my little princess are fine" Jack smiled

"We are, can we go home, I'm tired" Beth yawned

"Of course, let's get going" Jack said locking his hands with hers

As they drove away from the doctors building Beth smiled down at her bump. They were still having their little bundle of joy.

"So no sex huh?" Jack said

"Because the most important thing you took from this" Beth laughed

"How about blow jobs for the next few months?" Jack suggests with a smirk

"Shut the fuck up" Beth frowned at her with a slight smile

"Hey! Not just that, I will pay you back for it" Jack defended

"Now we're talking" Beth smirked at him

Jack was glad when they got home and got Beth tucked up into bed after all that. Jack let the boys know that she was fine and everything was fine and thanked them for staying at the house. Once they left, he climbed into bed with both his princesses hoping that what had happened was the only complication they would have and nothing else would go wrong for the rest of the pregnancy.
