Chapter Sixteen

After a few hours of laying in bed, Beth started to feel selfish. She knew she should be downstairs helping everyone as they were helping her and Jack. She decided to make herself look at least a tiny bit presentable as she knew there would be a load of people down there. No matter how much she tried, it was hard to cover the red puffy eyes that had occurred from her enormous amount of crying.

Beth made her way downstairs to be greeted with a lot of sympathetic looks from all the guys in the living room. Jack got up from the couch and hugged her tight. Beth sighed into his shoulder and wrapped her arms around him. His eyes were just as puffy as Beth's at this point. Not that anyone made a comment on that, they had every reason to look like this.

"Arianna is in the kitchen" Jack whispered into Beth's ear before pulling back

Beth nodded and kissed him before she went off to the kitchen. She assumed they were discussing the matters of who the people were and the best way to approach this situation. Whatever way it's done, Beth was in on this one. She was going to fight along with everyone else.

Beth entered the kitchen where Arianna was making food and coffee for everyone. It was still early and they had been here for a while so they deserved to empty the kitchen of food.

"Hey," Beth said with still a slightly croaky voice

"I can't imagine how you are feeling right now," Arianna said dropping everything she was doing and coming over to pull Beth into a hug.

Her hug almost made Beth tear up but she held it back, feeling like she had cried too much. It was time to get her planning head-on and stop with the tears no matter how upset she felt.

"I guess it's just time to figure out to get her back" Beth nodded

"We will, the guys won't stop until she's back with you and Jack, you know that," Arianna said with a half-smile

"I won't stop either, I want to help get her back home," Beth said

"Do you think Jack will allow that?" Arianna asked

"Doesn't matter, I want to help and he is not stopping me" Beth shrugged

"Okay well that's something for you and him to discuss, you want to help me now?" Arianna asked

"Sure, I'll help carry the food through" Beth nodded picking up a few plates

Once they had set them all down in front of the boys in the living room, Beth sat with Jack and listened to what they were talking about. If it was the guys they think it was then they possibly knew where they had taken Angelina but they would need weapons as they have a lot of guys around their area. Beth focused on their conversation but was interrupted by her phone ringing. She answered in front of everyone and she was confused by the voice at the other end so she instantly put it on speaker.

"Why hello Mrs Verona, it's lovely to speak with you" The voice chirped

"Who is this?" Beth asked as everyone watched and listened to the phone call

"The man who has your precious little girl," He said

"What? Please don't hurt her" Beth begged

"We won't hurt her if you do something for us," He said

"I'll do anything," Beth said

"We need Jack to come to meet us where we met him last time, he'll know where, tomorrow, we have some unfinished business to take care of," He said

"I just want my baby back," Beth said as Jack took a hold of her hand.

"Then if you follow my orders, your baby will be back in your arms alive and safe, I can't say the same for Jack though" He laughed

"How can I know you're telling the truth?" Beth asked

"You'll just have to trust me," He said. As he said this, Beth could hear a baby whining in the background which made her squeeze Jack's hand.

"Is that her? Is she okay?" Beth asked frantically

"She won't be if you don't do as we say," He said aggressively and hung up the phone.

The whole room was speechless for a moment. Good news is that they know Angelina was alive but the bad news, Beth could lose Jack in all of this if they didn't plan carefully. She didn't want to lose either of them. Her eyes began to pool with tears again after hearing her little baby in the background mixed with the feeling of being unsure of her safety. She was so scared for not only her now but also Jack.

Arianna took Beth out of the room and off to the kitchen so she could cry in there and get a tissue. She calmed her down for a little while before Jack entered the room.

"Are you okay babe?" Jack asked putting his arm around Beth's shoulder

"Yeah" Beth nodded "Have we got a plan?"

"We do" Jack nodded "It should work out okay"

"Well fill me in so I can prepare," Beth said

"You're not coming with us," Jack said "No way, you could get hurt"

"You're not stopping me from rescuing our baby, now tell me what's going on," Beth said

He looked Beth in the eyes knowing she was fully serious right now. No way was she sitting at home while they did all the work.

"Okay, we're leaving tonight," Jack said

Jack went on to explain the plan which didn't seem too bad. It was dangerous but with the number of people involved on Jack's side, it was definitely something they could accomplish. Beth had faith in everyone to keep Angelina and now Jack as safe as possible.
