Chapter Eleven

The arguing had not halted between Jack and Beth since he told her about the job. He tried to explain it to her but it didn't make her feel any better. He told her there was power in numbers and that he didn't want anyone to get to hurt which means there will be fighting. He could get hurt, badly but he still didn't see her side of this.

When the door was knocked on from whoever was picking him up, they were having a heated argument. Beth honestly thought he would see her side by now and not go but he argued that it was crucial for him to go.

"I really need to go now Beth" Jack said picking up his bag and slinging it over his shoulder

"Seriously, you're such a dick" Beth sneered at him

"Whatever, I'm going now" Jack said going for the door

"We'll see if I'm still here when you come back" Beth said quietly

"How dare you say something like that, you insensitive bitch" Jack shouted

"I'm insensitive? You're the one leaving me when I only have two months left, i could go into early labour and you could get hurt" Beth shouted

"You just threatened to leave me with my baby, yes, that's insensitive" Jack growled

"It's our baby" Beth said "And you're leaving me now, what if something happens?"

"Stop with the what ifs? You'll be fine" Jack groaned opening the door

"Ready to go kill this guy" The guy who was picking Jack up chirped from the car as he opened the door

Jack sighed and flipped the guy off and turned to Beth. She was glaring at him. They were going to kill a guy? He's probably, most definitely going to get injured in some way.

"You've got to be kidding me?" Beth asked "You're going to get hurt Jack"

"Shut up, I'll be fine" Jack growled

They stared at each other for a second before they both said the phrase to each other they never thought they would say to each other now.

"I hate you"

They both looked at each other in shock as if they both didn't mean their words. He slammed the door shut and soon Beth heard the car driving away from the house.

Beth couldn't believe they had said that to each other. Especially just as he was leaving and he could get hurt, she knew she was an asshole. Then again, so was he.

After all of that, Beth got herself ready to go out with Arianna to take her mind off everything. They shopped for a while and then sat down in a restaurant for dinner. She didn't talk about her argument with Jack arguing she didn't need back in her brain for now. She would apologise for everything she said to him when he was home tomorrow morning.

Arianna's phone rang mid conversation and she frowned as she picked it up. She answered it and the person on the other end sounded to be talking very fast. It was all just a muffled sound to Beth. Arianna kept her frown all through the call until the end when her face went to looking shocked very quickly.

She hung up and looked at Beth very worryingly.

"What is it?" Beth asked

"I don't want you to panic" Arianna said

"What has happened?" Beth asked as she felt her stomach drop. Jack. Something had happened, just as she predicted.

"We need to get to our hospital now, Andrew, Liam and Noah are there with Jack," She said standing up after she had put money on the table

"With him?" Beth panicked "What's wrong with him?"

"Just come on Beth and please stay calm, stress isn't good for your little one" Arianna said

They got to the hospital very quickly and before they entered the front of the building, Beth stopped Arianna.

"Can you tell me what has happened before we go in?" Beth asked

"Jack and Liam were beaten, Liam has a broken leg, Jack is in a coma right now, a lot of head hits" Arianna said

"Okay" Beth breathed out trying not to let the tears slip down her face.

They were taken straight to the room that Jack was in. Noah and Andrew were outside the room as Beth walked towards them.

"Beth" Noah said standing from his seat

"Are you guys okay?" Beth asked

"We're fine, don't worry about us" Andrew said

"Can I go in and see him?" Beth asked

"Sure, go ahead" Noah nodded

Arianna opened the door for Beth where she was faced with her very beat up and bandaged husband. She rushed over to the side of his bed and took his hand in her own and let the tears run down her face.

"I told you this would happen, you should listen to me" Beth mumbled at him "I'm sorry i said i hated you, you know i don't, i love you more than anything"

"Don't stress yourself out too much" Arianna said

"Can i stay here tonight?" Beth asked turning to look at her at the door

"Yeah, we'll set up a bed for you in here so you're comfortable" Arianna nodded "I'm sorry this is happening now"

Arianna left to go set a bed set up for Beth and once it was done and everyone had said their goodbyes, Beth was left alone. She sat next to Jack most of the night with his hand in her own hoping he would wake up before she got far too tired to keep her eyes open. She got into the bed they had set up for her, close to Jack's and tried to get some peaceful sleep. She needed to relax a bit, not for herself but for their little princess. This wasn't good for her either.
