Criminal [Book 2]

Chapter Six

A little time had moved on and much to Jack and Beth's excitement, it had reached the time for her twelve-week appointment. They had managed to keep it a secret from everyone else that didn't know. It was only Arianna and Noah outside of Jack and Beth who knew and they wanted to keep that way until this appointment was over. They wouldn't want to tell everyone and then something bad could happen. Not that they would let anything bad happen.

Beth didn't have a bump at all but Jack was obsessed with her stomach. He always had his hands on it somehow, it was a miracle that everyone didn't know she was pregnant. It was lovely though, he was very protective of their little peanut. It got a little bit much when he wouldn't let people near Beth but she couldn't scold him for being protective. This was his first child, of course, he was going to be extremely protective.

Jack was driving them to their first appointment slower than he would usually drive which made Beth scoff at him. He was scared of driving faster now that he had a little one to look after which is wonderful but not when he was driving ten under the limit and Beth was desperate to see their little baby in her tummy. He refused to go any faster when Beth complained and even when people beeped their horns at them, he just ignored them and continued at the speed he was happy with.

When they finally got there, they got out quickly as they were slightly late because of his slow driving. However, the nurse was waiting for them with a smile when they entered the room. Arianna had highly recommended her for Beth so she was happy with her.

"Hello you two, haven't seen you since the wedding" She smiled. Yeah she was there too, the whole community was there so Beth had seen them all before.

"And now here we are" Beth smiled pointing to her stomach

"I know how exciting for you both" She said "You can go sit on the bed"

Beth did as she told her and she lifted her top up above her stomach. She warned Beth that the gel she would be using is cold and when she squeezed it on, Beth gasped. She wasn't kidding. Jack sat next to her and held her hand and scanned her stomach. Once she had found what she was looking for she pointed it out for them.

"If you look there, that little dot there is your baby" She smiled

"Our little peanut" Jack said quietly next to Beth making her grin

"And the baby is okay?" Beth asked

"Looks like the baby is doing fine in there, they're the size they should be at the twelve week mark" She said

"That's great" Jack said

"He or She is about a size of a lime just now" She informed them

"They're still our little peanut" Jack smiled

"I'll go print out some pictures for you" She smiled

Once she left the room, Beth turned to Jack to see his eyes looking a little watery as he stared at the monitor that showed their lime sized baby.

"Are you excited?" Beth asked

"I can't wait to meet them, I hope they look like you, then I'll know they'll be beautiful" Jack said not taking his eyes off the monitor

That threw Beth off and made her tear up a little. The nurse came back in with their pictures and they went off feeling excited and emotional that they were bringing a little human into this world that they would raise them to be the best person they could make them.

When they arrived home the first thing Beth did was stick her pyjamas on as she wasn't going out for the rest of the day. She made herself bananas with peanut butter as this was her craving at the moment and it was just really good and she sat in front of the TV.

"So how are we telling people?" Jack asked as he joined her

"Why don't you send a text to everyone?" Beth suggested

"Yeah okay, can't be bothered with anything big" Jack said slipping his phone out of his jeans.

He made a short text just telling everyone briefly about their good news and he got a few back with congratulations from people. Noah was very excited to be officially an uncle. Liam's reaction was that he already knew as he noticed the way Jack's hand would always find its way to Beth's stomach. That was bound to happen really.

Later in the night as they climbed into bed, Jack put his hand on Beth's stomach and they talked about their future plans.

"You know I don't want this kid to be involved in any of this crime stuff?" Jack said

"Yeah?" Beth asked

"They're not going to be a criminal, I want them to get out of this and go to university and achieve everything I didn't" Jack said

"That sounds amazing" Beth smiled

"I know it may be hard with the fake names and stuff but we'll figure it out for them" Jack said

"We will, they'll be amazingly smart and they'll do whatever they want with their life" Beth said

"You'll be an amazing mummy" Jack smiled

"And you will be an amazing daddy" Beth said

"We'll be one little amazing family huh?" Jack said

"You know it" Beth grinned

Beth thought it was amazing to see how Jack's face lit up every time they discussed the future with their little baby. They would both do anything to make sure they have an amazing future and don't get involved in what Jack did. They would be their little angel and Jack and Beth would protect them with their life's. Beth couldn't wait to meet her little peanut.
