Bailey and Bucky have been pretty happy together over the past couple of years. It wasn't long before Bucky finally asked Bailey the official question for her to be his girlfriend, which obviously she said yes to.
But, on the cold December day, Bailey could tell there was something that bothered Bucky. She would catch him constantly staring off in a deep thought as they sat in the gym.
The two had maintained their training schedule, cutting it to once a week due to baileys college hours. Bailey had improved a lot since she's started. Bucky was a good teacher.
"Buck, what's wrong?" Bailey asked the tall brunette, sitting down next to him with a water bottle. "You look like you just saw a ghost."
Bucky frowned as his eyes met hers. The emerald green eyes Bailey had made it harder for him to speak. "Bailey, we need to talk." He said, watching as baileys smile dropped completely.
"Is.. is everything ok?" She asked him, taking his hand in hers.
Guilt plastered all over Bucky's face as he held her hand, and used the other to hold her cheek. "I know this is only going to stress you out more, and I'm sorry." He said, "but I enlisted to go off to the war."
Bailey felt her heart completely sink ti the ground, feeling as if she was going to pass out. "what..?" She asked, using her hands to keep her sitting up straight.
"Im sorry, bails." He said, "but you know this has been my dream.. fighting for our country. Fighting for a change."
"Yeah.. but-" she said, stopping as she found herself to be speechless. "But Bucky.."
Bucky stood up, lifting her up after and hugging her. "I know, Bailey." He whispered, kissing the side of her head. "I only enlisted last week, so we should have some more time till I get sent out."
Bailey nodded, keeping herself against him. "Well now I'm about to pass out so let's just go back to my house." She said.
Bucky didn't hesitate to scoop her up into his arms, carrying her outside to his car as it was pouring rain. He had just gotten it the previous year after saving up. "Just.. don't pass out." He said as he sat in the drivers seat.

When they returned to baileys house, Bailey felt much better after having the wind and rain blowing in her face from the open window.
"I've got to shower." the girl said, getting a whiff of her stench.
A grin grew into Bucky's face as he took her hand. "I have a better idea." He said, pulling her up and towards her backyard.
The yard was definitely small since she lived in a condo, the grass becoming all muddy from the rain.
"Bucky what are we doing out here?" The blonde asked with a small laugh as Bucky took both her hands. "It's pouring!"
Bucky smiled and began to swing her arms. "Dancing in the rain of course." He said, twirling her around and beginning to dance. "come on, you know you love it. And, this is like nature's shower."
Bailey smiled and followed along with Bucky, the two of them dancing on the small plot of backyard space as rain drenched every bit of them.
The couple felt pure happiness as they danced, as if nothing could ever replace the joy of it. Bailey knew this would be a memory that stuck with her forever, some goes with Bucky.
As lighting sparked in the distance, Bucky laughed at Baileys fear. "I won't let it get you." He laughed, gently grabbing her face in his hands and kissing her.
Bailey relaxed as their lips met, her arms snaking around his neck to hold them closer.
The moment was perfect until a loud bang of thunder sounded, scaring bailey so much that she felt her chest tighten. "Let's go inside.." she stuttered, holding Bucky's hand tightly.
"Your wish is my command, darling." He said with a small laugh, taking her hand and going back inside.
The two stood inside of baileys house soaking wet, realizing they didn't prepare at all for when they'd come inside again.
"Well, you've got a spare change of clothes here that I washed from last time you stayed over." Bailey said to Bucky, "but I still have to shower."
Bucky nodded and smiled at the girl, kissing her cheek and letting her go off to the shower. "Don't be long, I've gotta shower too." He said, taking off his soaked shirt and wringing the water out of it out the door.
Bailey watched Bucky carefully, a small smile forming on her face. "You know, you could join me if you'd like." She offered, watching as a grin appeared on Bucky's face.
"Oh really?" Bucky said, raising an eyebrow and putting his hands on her hips. "I would be honored." He smirked.

After their "shower time events", the couple laid in baileys bed and cuddled close. Bucky held the girl tightly, knowing that the loud thunder and bright lightning was giving Bailey small anxiety ticks. Her body would tense up each time thunder sounded or lightning lit up the sky.
"Buck, who else knows that your going?" Bailey asked, listening to his heartbeat as they laid there.
Bucky sighed. "You, my mom, my sisters, and Steve." He said, "I was scared to tell you, I thought you'd hate me."
Bailey smiled a little bit and moved her head to Bucky's shoulder. "How could I be mad at you for chasing your dreams?" She asked him, "I could never be mad at you, buck. But, I can definitely be terrified."
Bucky frowned, leaning his head against the top of hers. He felt relieved that he had finally told everyone he knew that would care, that he was leaving.
"How did Becca take it?" She asked, knowing Bucky's sister probably reacted in a similar way to her.
"Terrible, actually." He said, becoming sad at just thinking about it. "She's pissed off at me for leaving, but I don't blame her. For the longest time, we've been there for each other and now it's just-"
"-like you can't imagine how it could possibly be?" Bailey finished for him, hearing a small "mhm" come from him. "I felt the same way when my parents left, although the situations are different. I'll always hold a grudge against them for leaving, but I've gotten over it and so will she."
"You think?"
Bailey nodded. "Your very protective when it comes to your family, Bucky. You want to keep them safe, and you want to make them constantly happy. I know how Becca is, and I know she will realize what your doing is what's right, even if it hurts." She said, shutting her eyes, "now get some sleep, Soldier."
Bucky smiled and kissed the top of baileys head. "Goodnight, bails. I love you."
"I love you too, Goodnight."
