Bucky entered his family home after ten minutes of walking, a grin plastered on his face. "Is mom home yet?" He asked his sister, Rebecca.
The Barnes siblings had very familiar features. All four of the Barnes kids shared the same steel blue eyes, taller heights, and brown hair. But since Rebecca and Bucky were so close in age, they found each other to be the closest.
"Not yet." She said, "but Claire and Gracie are already asleep so your lucky."
Bucky laughed, making his way into the kitchen and finding a huge mess. "Becca, what the hell happened while I was gone?!" He asked his sister, noticing the small smirk on her face.
"Well, I like to play it smart, James." She said, "since I'm not getting anything out of this deal we had, you've got clean up duty."
A groan escaped Bucky's lips as he rolled up his sleeves and picked up the sponge. "What the heck did you make? Thanksgiving dinner?" He asked, grossed out by the many different textures going on in the sink.
Rebecca laughed, sitting down at the table and crossing her arms and legs. "Claire wanted some Mac and cheese, then Gracie wanted spaghetti and meatballs." She said, "they're very hard to argue with."
"Yeah, well, so are you." Bucky stated, scrubbing the pots with the soapy sponge.
"So, what's with the smiles anyways?" Rebecca asked, "your too happy for my liking."
Bucky sighed, peeking his head over his shoulder at his nosy sister. "Mind your business, Becca." He said, "I don't ask you anything when your too smiley."
Rebecca laughed. "That's because I haven't been smiley." She said, "and whenever I am, it usually means I had a master plan. Much like this one."
"Oh great." He said, looking around for a second. "Don't tell me there's a rat hidden somewhere to scare me."
"No, but thanks for the idea." Rebecca smirked, writing what Bucky said on a notepad. "But seriously, tell me what the smile was all about."
Bucky's smile returned just at the thought of Bailey. "I've got a date tomorrow." He said, "but if you wanna know more, your taking over the dishes." He made sure to make it clear, holding the sponge out to Rebecca.
The Barnes girl sighed, taking the sponge and switching places with Bucky. "What's so special about this one? You go on a date almost every night."
"But this one is different." He said, staring off.
"How could it possibly be different? Who are you going out with now?" She asked her brother, flicking water on his face tj grab his attention again.
Bucky smiled a little bit, holding his head up in his hand. "Bailey." He said.
Rebeccas face went to an immediate shock as she realized Bucky wasn't kidding. "Holy-" she began, "how the heck did you manage that?!"
"Well after school I brought her to the gym and we were just practicing since she needs to learn how to fight-"
"Hold on." Rebecca cut him off. "Why would she need to learn how to fight?"
Bucky sighed. "Trouble at school." He said, "whenever I'm not around someone manages to hurt her."
Rebecca laughed a little bit. "Then it's settled, you've got to stay with her. I can finally get my own room."
"Whoa whoa, are you trying to kick me out?" He asked, "it's just a date, Becca."
The girl nodded. "Fine, but the second you leave, I'm taking your room." She said, "and no returns!"

The following day, it was after school hours and Bailey was walking home. She felt way better now waking alone after her training with Bucky.
"Bail!" She head Bucky shout from ahead, the girls eyes lighting up as she spotted him.
A smile formed on baileys face as Bucky came over to her, taking her hand into his. "You have any homework?" Bucky asked.
"Unfortunately." She responded, swinging their arms as they walked. "But it can wait."
Bucky laughed a little bit and continued to walk with Bailey back to her house. "I'll help you with it, then we can go." He offered, nudging her arm.
Bailey returned the smile. "Alright, but just know that I'm totally going to judge you when you get the answers wrong." She said with a laugh.
"Right, I forget your in all honors classes."

After an hour or two, Bailey finally managed to finish her homework and packed it all back into her folder neatly. "Ok, we can go now." She said, peeking over to Bucky.
She could see he was getting tired, his eyes barely managing to stay open. "You alright?" She asked him, standing directly behind him and rubbing his shoulders.
"Sorry- yeah." He said, "I'm just exhausted, Becca made me clean up all the messes that her, Claire, and Gracie made as payback."
Bailey laughed a little bit, hugging him from behind. "Well, how about we just stay here and relax." She said, "I'm pretty tired too. You've got no idea how tiring this work is."
"But Bailey I promised you a date." Bucky said, Bailey tugging on his arm to get up.
"This promise is alright to break." Bailey said, bringing him to the living room couch. "As long as your here, that's all that matters."
The two sat on the couch, Bailey putting a big blanket over them while she laid on top of Bucky. Her head laid against his chest as she listened to his heartbeat.
Buckys arms were wrapped around baileys body, one arm over her back and his hand holding her head protectively.
"So much for that date." Bucky whispered with a small laugh.
"I prefer this over any date." She whispered back, feeling Bucky kiss the top of her head. "Wake me up if you need anything." Bailey whispered, her voice becoming more quiet as she drifted off to sleep.
Bucky chuckled a little bit as he slowly began to do the same. Not a chance.
