✔️Don't Leave Me ||Bucky Barnes||

As the dark hours of the night approached, the "howling commandos" as Steve called them; were all set up to leave for their mission to take down hydra. Each of them were dressed in uniform, bailey finding hers to be way comfortable than she thought it would be.

"Wait, bailey." Howard said, calling bailey over to him and Peggy before she loaded into the truck.

Bailey approached the two, crossing her arms as she stood there. "What's up, stark?"  She asked.

"You and Rogers are now the only two people who carry the super soldier serum.. I need you guys to stay safe." Howard said.

"So you want us to stay safe because the serum?"

"No no, wait." Howard laughed, "yes, that too since you guys are my only two actual success experiments, but your also my friends."

Bailey smirked. "So Howard stark does have a heart then." She said, "and so does agent Carter. I saw the gun."

Peggy smiled. "Well, Think about it as a goodbye girl. Till we meet again."

"Your acting like I'm going to die." Bailey laughed, "I'll be totally fine, I promise."

Howard nodded. "That's a big promise to keep, Miss Connors." He said, "but I trust you, now get out of here before Bucky actually comes to kill me."

Bailey furrowed her eyebrows and turned to look at Bucky, who was staring Howard down from the truck. "He's only trying to intimidate you." She said, "but it was nice getting to know you guys over these.. two days." She laughed, saluting to them then hopping into the back on the truck.

Peggy waved goodbye to the commandos as the truck load of them started to make its departure. "Stay safe." She shouted to them just as the truck left the base.

"So, you into Howard stark?" Bucky asked as him and bailey sat practically on top of each other.

Bailey gave him a look and whacked his arm. "Stop being so dramatic. I'd never be into anyone else but Bucky Barnes." She said, putting her head on his shoulder as her another headache and from the serum.

"Well, Connors, you're looking paler than a ghost right now." Dum Dum said, looking over at the girl. "You might wanna get that checked out."

Bailey sighed, relaxing her body as she tucked it into Bucky's side. "Just ignore me." She said, "it's this stupid serum, stark said I'd be fine."

Bucky continued to look down at her, examining her pale face. "Wait bails."
He said, putting her jacket around her like is was a blanket. "Rest up, I'll wake you when we get there."

The girl nodded, feeling a kiss being placed on her head before she completely fell asleep.

As bailey fell asleep, Bucky knew she wouldn't wake up to him or the guys talking but was still careful with how loud he was.

"So, sarg, how long have you been with her?" Jim asked, motioning his head to Bailey as she soundly slept on Bucky's lap.

Bucky shrugged, trying to remember the exact time. "I mean, a while now." He said, "since senior year in high school."

Dum dum looked at Bucky and sighed. "All those years and you never married her?"

"Jeez, you sound like my sister." Bucky laughed, "I was going to but then this whole war happened and there just wasn't a right time."

"Who's your sister?" DumDum asked, "is she single?"

Bucky sat silent for a few seconds, a flashback of the day he found out about Rebeccas death replaying in his head.

It was like any ordinary day of training. He was going to his bunk after a long day and the usual disgusting dinner, when he saw a letter on his bed.

He had hoped it was from bailey since she hadn't written to him yet, but found it was another letter from his mother. He knew Bailey was struggling a lot each time he'd leave and was always busy at work, so he understood why she couldn't write.

But this letter was different. The paragraph was long and the once white paper had some little stains all around it if what looked like tears.

James,

Hello James, how are you doing in England so far? I hope all is well and that your keeping yourself safe. I wish I could say the same for back home, things just got a lot worse.

I doubt that Baileys written to you about this yet, she said she couldn't bring herself to write to you because she wasn't ready to accept that your officially out there sacrificing your life. But, unfortunately this letter comes with sad news.

I'm sure you've noticed that Rebecca hasn't written to you in a few days. Well, she was in an accident on her way home from the post office. She was sent to baileys hospital and only let Bailey work on her. Bailey said she did anything she could, but Rebecca didn't want to be saved. She wanted to be painless.

Bailey came over the same night like a total mess. I think we were all pretty bad though. Claire and Gracie are pretty upset about it too, no ones really spoken in a while.

We are having her service in a few days and I thought I'd let you know, see if you could get a day or two off. But it's ok if you can't.

Please be careful out there, alright james? I cant lose another one of my babies.

And write back to let me know if Bailey ever writes to you. I can tell She feels extremely guilty about this, Rebecca was one of her only patients that she's lost.

Before Bucky could go on with his memory, he was snapped out of it by Steve talking. "Earth to Bucky?"

"Sorry- yeah I was just-"

"You alright?" Steve asked. "You were staring off for like five minutes."

Bucky nodded. "Yeah, just remembered something that's all." He said, just now noticing that he was petting baileys hair.

Steve looked at Bucky for another second, then nodded. "So what we're you guys talking about before buck decided to stare off?"

"I asked sarg if his sister was single." Dum Dum said, "then he zoned out."

Steve looked at Bucky, figuring out why he zoned out. "Touchy topic, Dum Dum." Steve said, "and no way in hell would any of his sisters wanna date you idiots."

"There's more than one?" One of the guys asked.

Bucky looked at them all, shaking his head. "None of you are getting with any of my sisters." He said, being more serious about it. "They've been through too much to deal with you guys."

The other guys got quiet and nodded their heads, turning around to make their own small conversations. Meanwhile, Bucky admired bailey as she slept, waiting to arrive to the first hydra base.
