Hope's POV: I crossed my arms over my chest, trying to keep my face emotionless but I found myself flinching every time their swords hit.

What is wrong with me?

She's a Peasant.

A thief.

She murdered my father for God's sake, snap out of it.

I gasped, digging my nails into the palm of my hand as Lizzie caught the boy's arm before jumping back in time to avoid a blow to the chest. I released a shaky breath as I shifted on my feet.

Why do I care?

Why do I care what happens to her?

I'm not supposed to care.

I'm Hope Mikaelson-

I inhaled sharply as he kicked Lizzie in the chest, sending her tumbling to the ground. I caught Lizzie's eyes as I felt my breath catch.

Shit...

Were her eyes always that blue?

Stop it, Hope.

Focus.

My eyes widened as I caught Conner raising his sword above her head, causing my heart to stop. "Lizzie", I yelled before clenching my eyes shut as the sound of metal ripping through flesh tore through the air.

"JOJO", I heard someone scream, causing me to hesitantly open my eyes, expecting to find Lizzie's head rolling at my feet, but instead found a brunette girl laying on the ground with a sword sticking out of her stomach.

"Josie? Josie", Lizzie panicked. "Jo. Look at me okay", she pleaded, cradling her head in her lap. "You're okay. You're gonna be o-okay", she choked out as a tear slid down her face.

"Hope, are you okay", Aunt Freya asked, rushing up beside me with guards hot on her tail as Lizzie slowly got to her feet with a new fire in her eyes. "Hope", she exclaimed, trying to get my attention, but I could barely hear her as I noticed the way Lizzie's body shook.

"L-Lizzie, please...it was an accident. I-I didn't know that she was gonna-"

"Shut up", she snapped, snatching her knife off the ground.

I found my feet pushing forward as I grabbed the blonde's wrist. "Lizzie?! Lizzie, stop! Lizzie", I yelled, trying to prevent her from murdering anyone else, especially in front of the entire Kingdom.

"Please, you don't-"

"I said shut up", she yelled, burying the hilt in his jugular as blood sprayed me across my face, causing me to gasp as his body dropped to the ground.

"CONNER", I heard someone scream as Lizzie stumbled away from the boy's body in a state of shock as she stared down at her bloody hands shakily.

"Oh....no...no, what have I done", she whispered, trying to wipe the blood off on her pants.

"Lizzie", I questioned, taking a cautious step back as tears streamed done her face.

"What have I done? W-what did I do", she sobbed as I grabbed her by the shoulders firmly, causing her to scream as her body shook violently. "No! No, please, don't hurt me! Please, it was a mistake", she cried, covering her face as if expecting me to hit her as I frowned in confusion.

"Lizzie", I said, shaking her slightly as she trembled almost fearfully.

"I-I take it back! I take it back, please", she panicked.

"Lizzie, look at me", I demanded, shaking her again as her eyes finally locked with mine, causing my eyes to soften as I noticed the petrified look in her eyes. I winced as she lay a shaking hand on my cheek as tears streamed down her face.

"I'm sorry, Josie. I'm so sorry", she sobbed. "I...God, I should've been there. I should've saved you...", she cried before her body seemed to fold into itself as her body hit the ground roughly.

"Aunt Freya", I gaped, lifting my eyes to meet hers tearfully.

"Lock them up", she demanded, sending the guards after Lizzie as one of them went after the brunette.

"What do you intend on doing with them, ma'am?", one of the guards asked.

"Kill them. They die tomorrow morning", she commanded as they lifted Lizzie off the ground.

"No! No, Aunt Freya, y-you can't do this...", I pleaded.

"She just killed a man, Hope-"

"It wasn't her fault! She-"

"We will talk about this later", she told me sternly before walking off to join the guards as I felt my stomach drop.
