Josie's POV: I grinned as we all met back up in Lizzie's room before dumping everything we stole onto the bed as I examined the piles thoughtfully. Alyssa had a small pile of jewelry, and expensive looking gadgets, Lizzie's pile is consisted of money and weapons, whereas my own had food and medical supplies. "So, who won. It was me, right", Lizzie grinned, as I smiled.
"Actually, I think we all did", I said, causing her to frown in confusion. "We all have our own techniques and styles, but that's what made us such a great team", I admitted. "With you taking the money and the weapons to help support us, I got the medical supplies and food to keep us healthy and alive", I explained, before looking down at Alyssa with a small smile. "Here", I said, sliding everything into her pile. "Take it. You need it more than I do anyways", I smiled.
"Thank you", she grinned, pulling the items into her pockets before throwing her arms around us both.
"If you need anyone to talk to-"
"Or just to steal with", Lizzie winked.
"Let us know", I said, rolling my eyes at Lizzie's eagerness.
"Come on. Let's get you out of here before everyone notices that they're stuff is missing", Lizzie whispered, causing me to shake my head.
"You better not get us all in trouble", I shouted after her.
"No promises", she threw over her shoulder. "And you owe me an explanation", she teased.
"In your dreams", I threw back, causing her to wink at me playfully.
"Spicy. I like it", she joked, causing me to laugh.
"Eww", I giggled, as she disappeared out the door.
Shaking my head, I walked around the room, pulling out an outfit before changing clothes and walking down the hall. "Hey", I smiled, walking up to Penelope. "I just wanted to thank you for letting me stay over last night", I admitted.
"It was no problem. Pedro loved it", she chuckled, before reaching into her pockets. "Huh...", she chuckled nervously.
"What's wrong", I frowned.
"Well, I did have something to give you, but I guess I left it at home or something", she said, rubbing the back of her neck as I bit my lip to cover up a snicker.
"It didn't happen to be a necklace with an emerald crystal would it", Lizzie spoke up, causing us both to turn our heads to see Lizzie looking the necklace over thoughtfully.
"Lizzie. I-I thought you were going down to the stables", I glared.
"Oh, I did, but someone happened to explain to me about some guard flirting with my dear sister, and I just couldn't resist", she shrugged, handing the necklace back to Penelope.
"Sister", she asked, looking between us in confusion.
"Oh! She meant, I feel like a sister to her", I told her quickly. "Not that we're really, sis-don't you have somewhere else to be", I hissed, glaring over at Lizzie in annoyance.
"Watch the flames, Josette. They could go out", she said in a joking matter, but I knew better. Swallowing hard as she walked off, she glaring back at Penelope sternly. "And you. I have my eyes on you", she warned.
I breathed deeply as she finally left. "So, what did you want", I asked her anxiously.
"Oh. Um. This is for you. It's a healing crystal. Legends says it protect those from harm", she smiled as I turned around, allowing her to clasp the chain around my neck.
I grasp the necklace fondly before tilting my head curiously. I smiled, instantly knowing there was a protection spell placed on the necklace. "Thank you. I love them", I smiled.
"Them", she frowned.
"What", I asked.
"You said them", she explained, causing me to wince as my slip.
"Oh...uh-"
"No. It's okay", she smiled. "I understand", she said, causing me to hold my breath.
"What...exactly", I questioned.
"That you're a witch...like me", she grinned as my eyebrows rose to my hairline.
