Josie's POV: I leaned against Lizzie heavily as Penelope led us through the castle. "How exactly are we gonna get out of here? If you haven't realized. There's guards all over the building", Lizzie reminded, causing Penelope to shush her as she opened a wooden door.

"If you've forgotten, I'm one of those guards, and there are more ways of getting out of here than walking out the front door", Penelope explained, pausing outside a door. "In here", she whispered, guiding us inside before shutting the door. I frowned as she lifted a hatch, causing Lizzie's face to turn a shade of green. "Get in", she instructed, causing Lizzie to take a step back.

"That's a sewer", Lizzie grimaced.

"Yeah", Penelope frowned in confusion.

"No. Not happening", Lizzie denied. "I think I'll take my changes with the chopping block", she said, shifting me onto her shoulder shoulder.

"Do you want to die", Penelope hissed.

"I am not climbing down into that thing", Lizzie shot back, causing Penelope to roll her eyes before swiftly moving around us and shoving Lizzie forward. I raised my eyebrows as a series of curses and grumbles came from the bottom, before I met Penelope's green eyes.

"Next", she smirked, taking my hand as I swayed on my feet.

"She's gonna kill you", I warned, getting onto my knees to climb into the sewer.

"She can try", she laughed, helping me climb down the ladder before Penelope jumped down beside me. "See? That wasn't so bad-"

I winced as Lizzie's fist connected with Penelope's jaw, causing her head to twist to the side violently. "Asshole", Lizzie growled, stomping off down the passage as I Penelope rubbed her jaw.

"She has a good right hook for a princess", she chuckled. "I think her and Mikaelson actually makes a great match", she joked as a small smile tugged at my lips. "Aren't you gonna ask me if I'm okay", she asked. "Or at least kiss it to make it not sting so much", she added, causing a snort to escape my lips.

"You deserved it", I shrugged, walking forward to catch up with my sister only to nearly fall face first.

"I got you", Penelope promised, grabbing me by the waist as I leaned into her body.

"Thanks", I mumbled in embarrassment. "I'm sorry. The vampire blood really helped, but I don't think my legs got the memo...", I explained, causing her to laugh softly.

"You don't have to apologize, Jojo. I don't mind", she promised.

"Wait, so who's watching your brother while you're off fighting imaginary dragons", I questioned.

"Dragons aren't imaginary", she chuckled to herself. "They're actually really...", she trailed off, catching my panicked expression. "Extinct", she finished sheepishly. "And who says Pedro is staying here", she asked, causing my frown to deepen.

"What the hell", I heard Lizzie say, causing me to look up to see her staring down at a young boy. "Who the hell are you", Lizzie demanded.

"My brother", Penelope answered, walking up beside her as Pedro waved at us shyly.

"You're bringing your brother into a war zone", Lizzie glared, causing me to glance over at Penelope silently.

"Would you rather me leave him here by himself", Penelope shot back.

"Pen, you don't know the Kingdom Of Light like we do", I reminded. "He could get seriously hurt", I told her, causing her to sigh in annoyance.

"We're back to this again", she asked in irritation.

"Pen-"

"The Kingdom of Light can't possible be worse than this place", Penelope shot back heatedly before beginning to climb a ladder as I shared a quick look with Lizzie.

"You'd be amazed", Lizzie spoke up quietly, causing me to shift my gaze to my feet before moving to follow Penelope. Climbing out of the sewer, I turned around to help Pedro and Lizzie out before walking down toward the stables.

Lizzie's POV: I sighed, looking out the window as the carriage passed the gates. "Well, royalty was good while it lasted I guess", I said, leaning back against my seat as Penelope sent her a amused expression.

"If it makes you fell any better, you'll always be a royal pain in the ass in my books", Penelope told her, causing me to send her a dirty look. "Plus, the fact of you being an actual princess", she reminded, causing me to fall silent. Noticing Pedro sleeping on Penelope's shoulder, I felt my shoulders drop as my eyes traced over his peaceful expression.

I don't think I remember being that young. I had to grow up pretty fast after our mother passed away that I didn't really get much of a chance to be a kid.

Tearing my gaze away from the boy, I returned my attention to the window as plants came into view, causing me to breath deeply. Feeling a hand slide into mine, I turned my head to look over at Josie's tensed posture as she squeezed my hand tightly. "Are you okay", I asked as she exhaled shakily.

"I never thought I would see this place again", she admitted quietly.

"I'm sorry", I frowned.

"It's not your fault. I should've known better", she whispered. "We're never gonna be free of this place...are we...", she questioned.

"It doesn't seem likely", I sighed somberly, causing Penelope to roll her eyes.
