Penelope's POV: I sighed, taking my station as I watched people walk by me in a state of panic. "What are we gonna do, Freya? I mean, I literally just saw him yesterday", I heard the royal family say.

"I understand that, but all we can do now is protect Hope and Princess Lizzie, and pray that the same fate doesn't fall onto them", Freya said.

"But what about the prophecy", her wife, Keelin spoke up as they disappeared down the hall, leaving me frowning in confusion.

"Milton", I called out to one of the servants.

"I told you already, Peez. Its Mg", he huffed, holding a broom in his hand.

"What's going on? What's got the castle in such a dark state", I asked him.

"You didn't hear", he frowned. "The King was murdered last night", he explained, causing my eyes to widen in disbelief.

"King Niklaus? How...", I asked.

"Assassins I'm afraid", he sighed. "The royal family is having the castle increase the security to protect the Princesses. They believe that the assassins may strike again", he explained.

Hope's POV: I breathed shakily as I continued to pace outside Lizzie's room. I looked everywhere! I even had the guards go back into town today to look for her, but the only thing that they could find was her horse. Where could she be?

Glancing up at the door, I looked around the hallway cautiously before pushing the door open. Looking through the room, I picked up one of the dreadful shirts that she tried on yesterday before bringing the material to my nose.

Dropping the shirt to the ground I raced out of the castle doors, and walked toward the edge of the woods. Looking around me cautiously, I slipped my clothes off, and shifting into a wolf as I took off through the forest.

"Come on", I heard someone hiss. "Hurry up", they said, causing me to freeze as I noticed two people dragging something through the woods.

"I don't know if this is such a good idea, Lan", a boy said, causing me to pause as I walked up closer. Is that...

"Do you know how much coin Sebastian said he'd pay? We'll be rich Raf", Landon explained. "Maybe even more than that time I helped kill the Queen", he said, causing my eyes to narrow angrily.

"But what if they find us", Rafael asked.

"They will if you keep talking", he hissed, as they attempted to cross the river. "Try not to drown her. He said that he needs her alive", Landon warned. "After this, I pretty sure that we don't have to worry about starving ever again", he said.

A growl escaped my lips as I jumped out of the bushes to attack them. I managed to bite a chunk out of Landon's arm before they both ran off screaming. Looking around I quickly shifted back before running into the river, and lifting Lizzie's head out of the water, checking her over for any kind of injury. "Jo...", she whispered, causing a burning sensation to flow through my stomach.

"No, its Hope", I told her, picking her up carefully as I noticed blood drip down the side of her head. "It's okay. You're safe", I assured, making my way back toward the castle grounds.
