Josie's POV: I groaned as I opened my eyes tiredly. Placing a hand to my head, I blinked in confusion as I looked around the unfamiliar room. Where am I? Pulling the covers off me, I froze, realizing that I'm only in my underwear. What the hell? I looked around them room warily before jumping back when the door swung open.

"Penelope...", I breathed, looking over the girl. "What...uh...what happened last night", I asked her.

"Nothing", Penelope told me quickly before blushing as she stumbled over her words. Looking down, I quickly pulled the covers over me as a blush covered my face. "I-I mean, we got home after the party, and you were pretty exhausted. So I let you sleep here, but nothing happened", she explained all in one breath.

"But my clothes", I said.

"Some guy spilled his drink on your dress last night. I actually just finished washing it", she explained, laying my dress on the bed.

"So...nothing happened", I asked her cautiously.

"No", she told me honestly, causing me to relax.

"Thank you", I smiled sheepishly. "How's your brother", I asked.

"Oh, he's doing very well", she nodded. "In fact, he wanted to walk to work with us. If that's okay with you", she said.

Hope's POV: I bit my lip nervously as I paced around outside Lizzie's room. Everything's fine. She's properly just upset or something. "Hope", a girl asked, walking up to me with a guard and a kid not far behind. Isn't that Lizzie's servant? "What are you doing outside my-Lizzie's room", she asked me.

"Shouldn't you be cleaning the floors", I asked them in annoyance. "And you", I said, pointing a finger toward the guard. "If you've come here asking for money again-"

"No, I wasn't...I mean...", they got out.

"Then what are you still doing here", I asked them sternly.

"Come on, Pedro", the guard said, leading the little boy away.

"What's up with you", the girl asked.

"What's that supposed to mean", I asked her angrily.

"Well, you seem grouchier than usual, and you look awful", she pointed out.

"Aren't you supposed to be working", I glared.

"Yeah, I just wanted to see if Lizzie was up", she answered, walking passed me to open the door.

"She's not in there", I glared, blocking her view from the door.

"She's already awake", she frowned in confusion. "Lizzie's never awake this early", she muttered to herself.

"That's not really any of your business", I told her. "You're here to clean the castle floors not follow the Princess around like a lost puppy", I fumed. "I don't know who you think you are, but you're sure as hell not Lizzie's caretaker", I said. "You're a disgusting, low-life peasant that has no business even breathing the same air as her", I seethed, watching her eyes darken.

I stumbled backward as the brunette grabbed my shirt and shoved me against the wall angrily. "What the hell is your problem", she asked me angrily before stepping back with an amused laugh. "Oh, I see what this is", she smirked. "You're jealous", she cackled. "What's wrong, sweet thing", she asked, running her hand down my cheek before I slapped her hand away. "You two looked so happy last night. Dancing the night away", she mocked. "Surely you didn't manage to screw it up already", she said, before my hand shot out, slapping her across the face.

She blinked, holding her cheek in shock as she looked at me in confusion. "Hope? What...", she frowned before her eyes widened as she sway slightly. "Oh my God, Hope...I'm...I didn't...", she got out as her eyes filled with tears. "I'm so sorry", she apologized before rushing down the hall.

I breathed deeply, running a shaking hand threw my hair.

What the hell was that?
