The weeks that followed were but a repetitive blur of going from her room to class to eating. She could recall small bits, certain colors or sounds, but the people had no faces. She knew that a nice lady showed her how to do something called eating, and how to make clear stuff come out of a faucet into a large thing called a tub. She had sat in this very spot multiple times. But most everything was mixed together in her mind. No one instance standing out aside from that slew of images. And now she was doing what she usually did. Listen to someone in a hooded coat talk, surrounded by others her age.
Here she sat once again, in the seat behind a blonde in between two boys. This time she wore white socks on her feet and her white hooded coat that she left open. Her pajamas the same, and her hood up causing hair on either side to fall over her front. This time they had two people. The first speaker this morning, a lady in a blue coat, had left after giving them paper and having them copy the shapes she wrote out on the chalkboard. (letters) Once they had done so three times, it was time for science or...self biology? The woman had taken the paper and left, so the red haired doctor came in once more. She was starting to recognize him a bit more now that she'd seen him so much, although a name was lost. He would come to her room every so often and ask her things. Though at the moment she couldn't remember what. He was dressed like a doctor like always, and stood before the class in a proper way with a straight back. His smile polite, but something of a comfort.
"Hello children." He spoke knowing he wouldn't get anything besides attention in response. "Today we're going to learn about the elements." The girl cocked her head slightly, as did a few others. "Elements make up our world. Ground, air, water, even fire." His words calm, knowledgeable, and even a little more enthusiastic than usual. As if he were trying to hide a smile at the topic. Because he was. This had always been one of Elliot's favorite topics, whether to learn or to teach. Any chance he could get to speak about the science behind magic, even if only the bare minimum of depth, he'd gladly take. As his collogues knew well.
Without wasting a moment he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small contraption. It was round like a golf ball, smooth and charcoal black with neon green lights lining around it like a gride, and a circle light right at the top that pointed at the ceiling. With many confused still, he gave the object a little squeeze. They heard a click and before they new it a light with an image shown up from the ball. More specifically, it was a hologram of a circle of 10 or so smaller blacked out circles. A basic imagine to help them learn. However seeing this freaked them out more than anything. With one kid who sat behind the redhead actually falling out of his chair with a thud t from where he'd practically jumped to attention. Causing the nurse who stood at the back of the room to help him back in his seat. The girl blinked in utter confusion. What exactly were they looking at here? What was that thing? Was if some kind of..food? A personal object?
Luckily they didn't have to wonder what it was called for too long, "This thing you see here is called an element wheel. And with it we're going to learn the basics of elements." as he told them in an almost patronizing way. However that still didn't tell them what it was for. A few were still lost. The doctor continued by raising his pointer finger as he put on a more serious factual tone, "Simply put: elements are a form of magic as well as the thing that makes life itself possible." he didn't want to get too excited and wind up losing his place. He only had so much time to talk, and giving them a long winded deep dive into the biology and social stand of each power would be pointless by this sage. So he kept himself calm, and gave the brief synopsis he had prepared and rehearsed. Because yes, for this one he had to prep himself. He needed to stick to the absolute bare minimum of it until they could at least try to form a coherent sentence themselves. "The base elements are Fire, water, earth, and air." As he listed them he tapped the circles of the hologram, and one by one they became the color that element was known for. Fire was a redish orange, water a deep blue, earth a muddy brown, and air looked gray. (The placement wasn't like that of the official, so that doesn't really matter) "However, there are also secondary elements such as ice and lightning. They go here, and here." He tapped the one between water and wind creating a darker gray half tinted blue and half tinted yellow. "Poison, healing.." One that wasn't between those that were out up, and one right next to fire.
