Steam flew through the air like a thin damp fog, making the breaths she took feel a little heavier as it weighed down the air. The mirror on the sink clouded over by the mist as the pink tinted suds ran down, falling onto the shower floor and mixing with the hot water swirling down the drain. Doing her best to scrub her long hair with the special shampoo they had told her to use. The feeling of the boiling water left her feeling refreshed, waking her up well with the beads attacking her skin. Helping to clear her mind of the questions plaguing it for a couple of days now. Questions regarding that "dream" after her magic class. Though they called it a dream when she told the doctor, she felt confident in saying that it was not. It couldn't have been. Right? It felt way too real. She could actually feel the tiles under her feet, feel the heat trying to suffocate her. But if it wasn't a dream where did she go? And how? She'd been in bed for three days according to the caretakers. She'd been playing this over in her head for hours over the past days. Then again when you were locked in your room there wasn't much else to do. But this felt nice. Just letting the hot water lift away those thoughts while she was given something to do. And for the first time, actually noticing the experience of taking a shower. It was calming, and once she'd finished washing her hair the sound of that metal shower curtain rings moving across the bar let the nurse outside the door know the girl was getting out. Stepping over the tub and onto the file floor just as she'd be shown, dripping water down and soon to grab the towel on the toilet lid.
A content smile found itself across Royanna's face this morning, as well as a tingle of excitement that almost seemed to make her move faster as she dried off and got dressed. Excited for what was to come today, as last night she'd been informed by her nurse while going on over what she'd missed that today was going to be her last day of school for a while. At least the kind you sat down for. She and many other kids had passed some sort of learning bar or growth period, and were going to get one final test to see what they remembered as well as listen to one more lecture. After today her wave would start their battle training and find their place in the order. Although she wasn't exactly sure what that last one meant, the thought of learning how to fight was an exciting one. She'd seen a couple people in yellow coats sparing in a round room when she were on her way to class before, they were using long sticks with a metal point at the top that looked really sharp. She felt like that had something to do with fighting, and hoped they would show her how to do that.
Because today was apparently special, she decided to wear her favorite of the bland clothing. A small simple dress that went to her knees with a straight down skirt, box neckline with little loops of lace the same as the bottom, a few buttons in front for the purpose of keeping it closed, and strap sleeves that went over her shoulders. She liked how it looked on her, it made her smile. And as odd as it seemed, feel a sense of confidence. However while doing the buttons up in the mirror after wipping it down her eyes caught something that made her stop. Just under her caller bone at the top of her breasts was a diamond shaped spot where her skin was puffier. Slightly pinker and although not exact resembled the diamonds from a playing card. And had smaller line mark reaching out of it, like thin vains that branched out from the sides for about an inch at most. Two on one side going in different ways and one on the other that reached up towards her shoulder.
She stared at it for a minute. Eyes scanning it carefully as she tried to figure out what it was. Her clothes must've covered it up before, because she didn't remember seeing it until today. It wasn't so big that even her dress couldn't hide it, about the size of a nickel which she found herself glad for. The biggest part of it when it came to sticking out was the line that reached her caller bone going for her shoulder. The mark caused a slower pit of curiosity to brew, an odd sensation when her eyes stuck to it added itself right behind. Causing a deep chill and a waver in her stomach that made her swallow with her eyes shut. Taking a second to push it down out of instinct. Fueled by curiosity her hand hesitantly reached for it. Slow moving as if she'd scare it off somehow otherwise, or perhaps scared herself of what it might do. Her fingers grazing it softly, tracing the outline and feeling the small bump the lines gave her skin. Before she placed them in the middle of it and pressed down as if testing it. It felt like any other part of her body. That is to say it didn't hurt when she touched it. In fact the slow stroking motion tickled slightly.
