Today Anna woke up feeling particularly, cheerful, supposed to be a good word for it. Humming the opening theme of a sitcom she often saw on the television with Garth and Sato as she brushed her hair and picked out what bland white clothing she was going to wear. It looked pretty sunny and warm today, so she chose a white and light gray striped dress with sleeves like a t-shirt. Nice and flowy even if she may have had to wear her coat over it. Pulling her hair into a ponytail as best she could with how long it was. She wasn't sure why she was in such a good mood today, maybe it's because her dream last night was pleasant. And it was an actual dream this time, not one of those Tower dreams. This time she dreamed about chasing ducks through a forest trying to catch them with a net, if she wasn't sure why but it was silly dream nonsense.

After getting dressed, she headed on her usual path with her bag over her shoulder. Smiling softly to herself, although trying not to look too happy in case she ran into a certain blonde... Flora found any reason to pick on her. But like Lucien said, "that's how bullies are", so she shouldn't be surprised. She was so glad she was taken out of Christine's classes, she was pretty sure she'd suffered a mental breakdown at one point thanks to that woman given what she'd heard about her since. Anyway. While on her way through the living room she overheard a conversation happening between Sato and Garth, which wasn't out of the regular. However the topic wasn't the usual banter about whatever was on TV. Instead, she caught them in the middle of a conversation, the elf standing in his green coat and braided hair as the old man sat slack and relaxed on the couch.

The former soon crossing his arms, "Why don't you have to collect for the sermons?" seemingly teasingly complaining about his duties that day as he looked at him very unsatisfied. To which Garth only chuckled good naturedly, "Heh, perks of being old, kid." throwing the purple haired elf a smirk, the wrinkles on his face deepening with a small sense of joy looking up at his youthful friend. By no means reluctant to flaunt the fact that he didn't have work today. Sato scoffed, rolling his eyes as a small smile formed himself, "Oh please, you're still a blue coat, you can fight." his voice gaining humor as if to tease the old timer into action. After all, he was old not dead. He still had a weapon and could kick major ass. "I can fight." He confirmed, "What I can't do is handle the surges that come from one of those Reapers. Damn thing nearly stopped my heart last time." he then admitted.

The reasoning being legitimate as for why in actuality he was taken off the hunting squad. Physical and power absorption wise, he couldn't do it. The energy give and take was too violent for him at this point, he was too old. So while they did and could joke about him being lazy, there was reason. This was news to Sato, "Really?" looking at the old man with a bit of worry as he nodded, the joking leaving him soon after. He must not have been on duty that day, he didn't remember hearing anything about Garth having trouble with the Reaper weapon due to his... anything. That pretty much shoved his foot in his mouth, since, Garth's health was actually something that concerned him at times. He was one of his best buds.

It was a good thing for awkwardness sake than, that Anna had come up to them. Her face curious and confused as she spoke up. "What's a sermon?" Making the elf jump with a startled sound as she got their attention, "Ahgh! Jesus... Anna, don't sneak up on people like that." he spat out, taking a breath as he tried to calm his spiked heartbeat. "You're almost as bad as Lucien." This almost made her chuckle, the thought of a big guy like Lucien sneaking up on someone was a little bit amusing. She had to suck in her lips and try not to be rude, poor Sato. At least the air seemed to get lighter for the men as Garth replied. "Ah, so ya heard that huh? They didn't teach you about it in those classes?"

Anna thought for a minute, she didn't remember much before the training courses so.. assuming he meant the classes where they were in a room at a desk, she shook her head. "I've never heard of a sermon before. What is it? Another monster?" That was the only thing she could think of, it almost sounded like a monster name. "Well..." Sato started, rubbing his neck as he tried to think of a way to describe it, simply enough so she could understand. "It's kinda like a lecture on the holy stuff. Gods, goddesses, angels, and the morals we can learn from them." He explained, of course that's not all they were. Sometimes people came up and told personal stories too, and sermons were different from belief group to belief group. But for the Order of Kismet, "Basically, everyone gathers on the top floor of the Chateau, we all sit around a big table and listen to emperor Rubin, pray, give thanks to Bedisa, and watch the moons eclipse each other."
