Snowbarry One Shots II

First Date

3 rd Person POV:

Today was a very special day in the lives of our two super heroes, as today was the day of their first romantic date. Both Barry and Caitlin had wanted this moment to happen for a long time, but their fear of being rejected had spoken louder so far.

But it was yesterday afternoon, while Barry accompanied Caitlin to her car, that she got up and asked Barry if he wanted to go on a romantic date with her. Barry in the first few seconds was still processing the request that Caitlin had made to him, but obviously he ended up accepting it. The deal would be that Barry, after leaving the CCPD, would come and get Caitlin to the laboratory and together they would go to the meeting place.

"So where are you going to take me?" Barry asked as he headed for the car park with Caitlin.

- It's a surprise. I need you to do me a small favor, "said Caitlin, opening the passenger seat and removing a black blindfold from the glove compartment.

- Seriously? Do you want me to put it on? "Asked Barry, incredulous but enthusiastic at the same time.

- I said it was a surprise and I want it to stay that way for a few more minutes.

"If that's what you want, I'll put it on," said Barry, putting the blindfold that Caitlin had in his hands.

Then, with Caitlin's help, he sat down carefully in the passenger seat and Caitlin went to sit in the driver's seat and started the car. The path was quite short and they could even walk, but she wanted to hinder Barry's guessing power. Just two minutes after leaving the STAR Labs car park, Caitlin parked her car.

"You can leave, sir, being careful not to hit your head," Caitlin said, taking Barry's hand in order to help him out of the car.

- Can I withdraw the blindfold already? Since we've already arrived.

- Not yet! Just a little more.

While Barry was leaning against the car and trying to think where they might be that was near the lab, Caitlin removed a basket from the trunk of the car and quickly joined Barry again. She asked Barry to take her hand and so, hand in hand, they walked to the place of their first meeting.

- Just a little more .... We arrived! When I say, you can remove the blindfold, "said Caitlin, setting the basket down on the grass.

When removing the blindfold, Barry needed a few seconds for his eyes to adapt to the natural light, but looking around he realized that they were in the park that was close to STAR Labs and looking at the basket that was sitting on the grass, next to Caitlin, he realized what Caitlin had prepared for this meeting.

- I walked around in bed last night thinking about where I would take you for our first date. And then I remembered that when one of us needs a lot of thinking, we always came to this park and this specific place, so I thought it would be a good idea to have a picnic here.

Caitlin was trying to guess what the expression on Barry's face meant, but as hard as she tried, she would never guess. Had she made a good choice? Did Barry prefer to go to a restaurant for dinner or have a drink at a bar nearby?

- Didn't you like the surprise? We can go and look for a restaurant or bar ...

- Of course I liked it. Cait, this place is perfect!

"Thank goodness because I brought a lot of food," said Caitlin, bending down to pick up the towel that was in the basket.

After they held out the towel, Caitlin began to put all the food in the basket on top of the towel. For this picnic Caitlin had brought mini tuna and chicken sandwiches, fruit salad (with apple, pear, mango, orange, strawberries, banana, pineapple, peach and grape), chocolate almond brownies, oreo cupcakes and drinks (juice pineapple and natural orange juice).

"I told you I brought a lot of food," Caitlin said after seeing Barry's amused expression when he saw the amount of things that were on the towel.

- So we better start eating, if we want to finish eating today.- Barry said and they both sat on the towel.

While they ate, the two talked about all kinds of subjects that could exist in a person's life, from the question of how the working day had gone to what were the favorite films and series. It was almost ten o'clock at night when they finished the picnic and headed for Caitlin's car.

- Thanks for this meeting, I had a great time, - said Barry as soon as Caitlin parked her car outside Joe West's house.

- Me too, we have to repeat.

"Saturday night?" Asked Barry, smiling. "This time I will be the one to choose the location and what we will do on our second date.

- It seems like a good idea.

- It's a date! Now I better get in, because it's getting late and tomorrow we both have to wake up early to go to work, "said Barry, opening Caitlin's car door.

However, before he got out of the car, he turned back to his friend and kissed her good night on the lips.

- Now, good night, - said Barry smiling and got out of the car, leaving a Caitlin perplexed by what had just happened.

Seconds after Barry entered his house, Caitlin started the car again and drove home. However along the way she found it difficult to focus on the road in front of her, as her head and attention was mostly focused on what just happened between her and Barry.

Both Barry and Caitlin could not be happier for what happened on this day, as it was not only the day of their first meeting, it was the day they agreed to meet again and even better, it was the day they gave their first kiss, as a couple.

The next day, they were both a little nervous to see each other, as they hadn't talked about the kiss, but they couldn't help it. As Barry only had to go to the CCPD in the afternoon, he used every minute of the morning to be with Caitlin and of course with the other members of the STAR Labs team, but mostly with Caitlin.

Right now, both Caitlin and Barry were delighted with their first meeting the day before and couldn't wait for their second meeting.
