Home is Where the Heart Is

Three years... Three years have passed since the day that Caitlin Snow was determined to leave her lab and her life in Central City. Days after the death of Ronnie, her fiance, Caitlin learned of a vacancy that had opened in a laboratory in Colorado, USA. This laboratory was called the Rising Laboratory, and it is currently considered one of the best laboratories in the world.

As it was a very vulnerable and fragile time in her life, Caitlin didn't even think twice about submitting her candidacy, as all she wanted at that moment was to get out of Central City, as everything around her only reminded her of her deceased fiancé. However, time passed and she never got an answer to her candidacy, so she ended up forgetting about it. That is, at least until this morning!

Caitlin Snow had just arrived STAR Labs for another day of work in the company of her best friends and her boyfriend, Barry Allen, when her cell phone started ringing. As it was a number she didn't know, she still considered not answering, but as she still had some time before she had to begin her work, she decided to answer. On the cell phone was Alexander Godwin, the latest CEO of Rising Laboratory.

By the looks of it, Alexander is opening new jobs in his lab and last week he found the old application Caitlin had sent. He was obviously quite impressed with Caitlin's résumé and after a long call with Wells, Alexander was determined to have Caitlin in his lab. However, his plans for this brilliant bio-engineer was not just any job... He intended for Caitlin to take over the leadership of a new team made up of young scientists, the brightest of Colorado universities.

It was indisputable that this opportunity was fantastic for Caitlin's life, not only on a personal level but also on a professional level, however this job couldn't have come at a worse time. Caitlin was completely torn as though she really wanted to take this job, she didn't want to leave Barry Allen, the man she loves, behind.

"Earth calls Caitlin Snow!" Cisco exclaimed, trying to snap Caitlin out of her trance. "Is everything okay?" You look extremely confused.

- I have something to tell you, but you have to promise me that you won't tell anyone, especially Barry.

- Well, I see it's a serious thing. I promise!- said Cisco and both left STAR Labs and sat on one of the benches that had the entrance to the laboratory.

- You know that Ronnie's death affected me immensely and that at that time I was determined to leave Central City. A few days after Ronnie's death, I learned of a job opening in a Colorado lab and decided to apply for the job. However as they had never given me an answer I ended up forgetting the subject, but the CEO of this laboratory called me a little while ago. He said that he was opening new vacancies in his lab and that he found my old application and that he loved my résumé. Basically, he wants me to go work there!

- Like a bio-engineer?

- Not precisely. He's forming a team of young scientists and he wants me to lead that team.

- Lead a team? But that's great news! And have I ever heard of this lab? What's the name? - asked Cisco confused.

- Rising Laboratory.

- No way! But that is one of the best laboratories in the world.... And you were invited to work there... or better to lead a team! That is a dream!

- I know it is and you believe I am delighted with this opportunity, but it turns out that the timing couldn't be worse.

- Why?

- Cisco if I take this job, I'll have to leave and that means leaving Barry.

- One thing doesn't imply the other, you know that. It's true that it makes your relationship a little difficult, but it doesn't mean it has to end. But have you already accepted the job?
