The most awaited day in the lives of the STAR Labs/Flash team members has finally arrived... The first day of summer vacation! After a very complicated and stressful year, due to various meta-human attacks and all the hospitalizations in and out of STAR Labs by members of this team, these two weeks of vacation are more than deserved. After some discussion about the destination of our trip, we ended up choosing to go to Phuket, which is located in southern Thailand.

And I already know what you're thinking and the answer is no! Although the four of us, meaning me, Cisco, Caitlin and Harry, went on vacation, we left STAR Labs and Central City in good hands. Over the next three weeks, Central City is in the professional hands of Joe, Wally, Jessie and Ralph. As our flight was scheduled for seven-twenty, the four of us agreed to meet at the edge of the check-in area at six-thirty. After the four of us had checked in and as it was still a long time before our flight, we went to one of the cafes to grab a bite to eat.

"I can't believe I'll be on a plane for twenty-seven hours." Cisco said putting his hand on his forehead.

"It'll all be worth it when we get to Phuket." Caitlin said, as she set her glass down on the table.

As soon as they announced over the loudspeakers that the doors on the flight to Tailand would open, we grabbed our things and approached the entrance hall. According to our tickets, Caitlin and I were in rows B and C, seats 7 (we were next to each other), while Cisco and Harry were in rows A and B, seats 9 (next to each other). After we landed in Tailand, we just needed to catch a small flight to Phuket. It was half past five in the afternoon when we landed in Phuket, we went to get our bags and get a taxi to take us to our hotel.

After checking in at the hotel, we went to our rooms to put our things down and rest a bit, due to our long journey. It was eight at night when we met in the lobbie to go to dinner and decided to stay at the hotel. We went to the food court and sat at one of the tables that were vacant and took a look at the menu. After reading the menu, Harry and I chose to eat Pad Tai while Caitlin decided to order Khao Pad and Cisco ordered Gaeng Matsaman.

Pad Tai are noodles mixed in a hot wok with soy sprouts, shrimp, egg and onion and seasoned with soy sauce, sugar and chillies. At the end, on the plate, a topping of chopped peanuts is placed. Khao Pad is an extremely simple dish: rice, egg, onion and some herbs. It can be accompanied by chicken, cow or shrimp. Gaeng Matsaman is one of many traditional Thai curry dishes, however it is not as spicy as other curry dishes. It is sweeter than the others and its base is composed of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom and cloves, usually accompanied by potatoes. For dessert, we ordered Sweet Thai Crepe and Ice Cream Coconut.

- What about going for a walk around Phuket? - I asked them as soon as we left the restaurant area.

"Sounds like a great idea to me." Caitlin replied smiling.

"I'm still a little tired from the trip so I think I'll rest." Harry replied.

- Yeah, I'll stay here too, but you two go. - Cisco said smiling.

- I'm really glad we made this trip... Together! - Caitlin said as soon as we started walking.

- Me too. We've been through a lot these days, we needed a vacation in good condition. Things always become more fun when we're together.- I said smiling.

- That's true there. Remember the last time we went out socially together? Not to go to Jitters, of course.

- So I don't remember. I will never forget your version of the song "Summer Nights".

- Don't even remind me of that, shame on you!

- Don't be, it was a lot of fun. I think it was the first time I had genuinely enjoyed myself since my lab accident.

- Me either!

After spending two hours walking and talking, we went back to the hotel to rest. The first three days were more dedicated to exploring this beautiful city. Then we focused our attention on relaxation. So most of our days were spent on the beaches of Phuket. From what the lady who is at the reception of our hotel told us, every Friday, in the middle of the main square, there is a huge fair, with the most varied items.

- I can't believe it's been two weeks. And tomorrow we're leaving this paradise.- said Cisco, as we came from the beach.

"This is great, but I already miss Central City and our friends." I said smiling.

- Well, boys, I'm going to take a walk around the mall. See you at dinner time? - Caitlin asked smiling.

- I'll go with you.- I exclaimed smiling and I got closer to Caitlin who was just smiling.

- We're going to the hotel. But see you in the food court at eight-thirty.- Cisco said winking his eye at me.

I didn't understand that blink of an eye, but if all these years we've been friends has taught me anything, it's that sometimes it's better not to ask why some of his actions. When we arrived at the mall, we went to take a look at the clothing, shoe and gift shops, so that we could offer something from this place to our friends.

- Thank you for coming with me to the mall. I admit that secretly I was hoping you'd say you were coming," Caitlin confessed softly.

- I would never leave you alone, especially in a city you don't know well. And besides, I really like your company!

- I think we should do this more often?

- What? Go to the mall? Coming on a trip? - I asked confused.

- No, we spend more time together outside of STAR Labs.

- Let's make a promise. - I said stopping in front of her and I held out my hand. - From now on, every Friday night, we'll both go out. It doesn't matter where, it's just the two of us going out.

"It's promised!" Caitlin exclaimed, holding out her hand.

After we spent some more time at the mall, we went to the hotel to take a shower and change clothes and then meet up with Cisco and Harry in the food court. The next day was a mixture of feelings, as it was our last day here. Even though I'm enjoying being here with these three wonderful people, I already miss the rest of the team.

After having breakfast, we went to the hotel's swimming pool and stayed there almost until lunch time. At lunch, we decided to have a change and went to eat at a small restaurant next to the weekly market. The rest of the afternoon was reserved for us to pack our bags and sleep a little, as we had a very long journey ahead of us. After dinner, we went to our rooms to get our things and checked out. About forty minutes later we found ourselves at the airport in Phuket waiting for our flight to Tailand, to then catch a twenty-seven hour flight to Central City.

These holidays were spectacular and I hope one day I will be able to return to Phuket and preferably with the same company. However, in the meantime, Caitlin and I kept our promise and every Friday we would go out together, whether for coffee, a bar, a music show or a simple walk in Central City park .
