𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧! ~ 𝘔𝘢𝘹 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘧𝘦𝘪𝘭𝘥

Chapter 8

As Mike and I were walking over to Will so we can show Dart to Mr. Clarke, I started thinking.

I'm going to forget about my crush on Max, or at least ignore it.

It's just too much for me; my first reason is, Dustin AND Lucas like her too, I can't compete with 2 boys. My second reason is I don't even think she like girls, people around here aren't very excepting of that. My third reason is, she's a really great person, I don't want to ruin our friendship over some crush that will probably go away sooner or later.

"Hey, you ok?" Mike interrupting my thoughts.

"Yeah." I say trying to convince myself in the process.

"Oh, there he is." Mike exclaims, pointing towards him.

"Will, you coming?" Mike asks. "Let's go show Mr. Clarke."

Will walks towards us with a look of worry and uncertainty painted on his face.

"What?" I ask.

"What?" Mike repeats, also wanting to know what's wrong.

"It's about d'Artagnan."

I look at him in confusion as Will whispers something in Mikes ear, Mikes' former confused face turns into a scared one.

"What, what is it?"

Mike pauses "we cant let Mr. Clarke see, hurry come on!" He says as he starts running down the hallway, us following shortly after.

"Will, what's going on, you know I don't like it when you keep secrets."

"I know Emmy, it's just hard to explain. You all would think I'm crazy. But I'll try to explain as soon as I can." Will answer.

"Ok..." I mumble, uncertainty cutting my words short.

As we finally reach Mr. Clarke's class I can see Dustin, Max, and Lucas already in there; ready to show Mr. Clarke their weird discovery.

"Stop!" Mike, Will, and I burst through the door. "I'm really sorry, Mr. Clarke. It was just a stupid prank." Mike rambles as he grabs the box with Dart inside.

"The hell are you doing?-" Dustin asks, before Mike cuts him off again.

"I told him to stop. We need to go."

"Mike-"

"Right now. Right now!" Mike yells as everyone follows him out.

"What's happening?" Max asks me.

"I don't know, they wouldn't tell me. But I don't think it's anything good." I tell her with worry written on my face.

As we make it to the room Mike wouldn't allow Max to be let in. I tried to protest multiple times but he just kept saying the same phrase, 'party members only.'

"Hello? Hello?" Max yells as she's banging on the door, "Guys come on, can I come in yet?"

"No!" Mike exclaims.

"I don't understand." Lucas admits.

"What do you not understand?" Mike asks him like he was stupid

"Will saw something that looked like Dart last year?"

"Kind of, but there was no tail." Will answers quietly.

"But then he heard it yesterday. The exact same sound." Mike adds.

"Why didn't you tell us before?" Dustin asks the question that me and Lucas were probably wondering.

"I wasn't sure." Will murmurs.
