Really quick I just wanted to say that I've obviously never been to college, so I'm just basing what happens school wise in this story off what I already know, so if I get anything wrong please tell me and I'll change it:) besides that enjoy this update<3

During class all I was doing was trying to focus on the what professor was saying then getting mad at myself when my thoughts drifted back to Thomas. My phone vibrates in my pocket and I slyly slide it out of my pocket and unlock it.

Thomas: u still in class?

I quickly type a reply.

Me: yeah why?

My phone buzzes.

Thomas: I wanted to ask u something:)

Me: what?

Thomas: I know its not really ur thing but theres a party tonight and I want u to come with me:)?

Sighing inwardly I surprise myself by typing back, that sounds fun:)

Thomas: YAYYYY! Come to my room at like 6 and we can go?

I bite my lip so I don't laugh at his adorable reaction and type back a quick response before sliding my phone back in my pocket and trying to pay attention to what my professor is saying.

-

I've never felt more like a teenage girl in my life, I'm not sure what to wear. I've thought about it for no less than ten minutes and now I'm just starting to get frustrated.

"Ughhh!" I groan.

"What's wrong?" Alby asks, not looking up from his phone.

"Oh...uh nothing, I'm just going to a party tonight..." I trail off and look back to my clothes.

"A party? Really?"

"Yeah," I mumble, snatching a blue button down, this will have to do, it's ten to six. Quickly changing I grab my phone and rush out the door.

Running through the halls of Thomas's dorm I stop in front of his door at exactly six o'clock, smiling to myself for being on time I knock on his door.

"Come in!" He shouts from inside.

Opening the door I walk in and find Thomas standing there...without his shirt on. Blushing and looking away I mumble a hello.

"Hang on I'm almost ready, I thought if have a little more time," Thomas laughs. Bending down to grab a shirt from the floor. "Do you think this one looks okay?" Thomas ask. Focusing on a point on the wall I nod without even looking, not wanting to stare.

Thomas laughs, "Am I making you uncomfortable Newt?" He asks.

"Uh no," I say, still avoiding looking at his bare chest.

"You're good to look now," Thomas says. My cheeks are burning up but I meet his eyes and smile lightly. Thomas laughs, he wears a blue and red flannel shirt and skinny jeans. "You ready?" He asks, putting his phone in his pocket.

"Yeah," I smile, Thomas returns the smile and gestures for me to follow him out of the room.

-

We can hear the pounding music from outside, "you ready?" Thomas says in my ear, I shiver at his closeness and the feel of his breath on my skin and nod. He grabs my wrist and leads me up to the door.

Taking a deep breath I walk inside, my anxiety already rising. Starting to panic I look to Thomas, seeing the comforting smile on his face slows down my beating heart, I take in a slow breath and smile back at him.

Thomas says something but his words get lost in the music. "What?" I yell. He leans in a shouts, "do you want to dance?" My nervousness and shock must've shown on my face because Thomas laughs and takes my hand and starts pushing through the bodies of sweaty, dancing people.

I take a jab in the ribs and a kick in the shin as we make out throughout the room, the people say sorry but we keep moving. Thomas stops and turns to face me, a goofy smile plastered on his face. His smile is contagious so I can't help but smile back.

A new fast paced song starts and Thomas starts to dance, there isn't a lot of room but he still manages to move around a little bit. I nod my head to the music a bit but shout to Thomas that I don't dance.

"Oh come on!" Thomas laughs, grabbing my hands with his and swings our arms around. I laugh and get lost in the music with him, in the middle of the song he drops my hands but his places his hands on my shoulder. Singing loudly his hands slide down my body and linger on my hips. I freeze while Thomas sings and dances, my eyes are wide and my cheeks are burning up. He momentarily hooks his fingers in my belt loops to pull me closer but then he grabs my hands again like nothing happened.

Shaking it off I continue to dance with him, even singing along at some parts of the songs. Thomas places his hand on my chest as he sings along to Bang Bang.

I laugh as he messes up most of the words and sing a little bit with him, he throws his head back and laughs with me. We dance and sing for about eight songs then he shouts that he wants to rest for a minute. I nod and follow him to a bar area where we still on some stools.

"Having fun?" He yells in my ear. "Yeah!" I shout back. And surprisingly, I actually am, being with Thomas has prevented my anxiety from flaring up. Normally in this situation I would start to feel like the walls were closing in, my heart rate would pick up and I would have to leave, actually, if I weren't with Thomas I would've never come here in the first place.

Thomas orders two waters and hands me one. I yell a thank you and drink the whole thing in about three sips. All the singing and dancing has tired me out.

Thomas sips his water and we both fall silent, now that Thomas isn't talking to me I start to really notice my surroundings, the loud pounding music, screaming sweaty people packed together, endless people running into me as they walk by. My palms start to get clammy and I wipe them off on my pants continuously. "Hey you okay?"

I nod but I'm sure the look on my face says otherwise, "let's step outside for a minute, get some fresh air," he says in my ear, he grabs my arms and once again leads me through the mass of people. Their bodies move together like one living being.

We push our way outside and I take a deep breath. "I'm sorry about that...just a little overwhelmed. You can go back in if you want," I say. I bend down and place my hands on my knees, trying to catch my breath.

"No, why would I do that?"

"I just don't want to keep you from having any fun." I meet Thomas's eyes and he smiles.

"It wouldn't be any fun without you," he says quietly, placing a hand on my back. I smile and my heart beats faster than it did inside. I stand up straight and smile at him.

"Do you want to go? We can just hang at my dorm or something?"

"Are you sure?" I ask.

"Yeah! Let's go." He smiles and we start walking back to his dorm.

"Hey fag!" Someone shouts from behind, I suddenly feel two hands on my back shoving me, stumbling forward a few feet I catch myself just before I fall.

"Hey douche," I hear Thomas say. I whip around and find Thomas pushing the guy on his chest, causing him to fall backwards. "Thomas stop! It's not worth it!" I call out but he ignores me.

Thomas raises his arm and slams his fist into the guys jaw. A horrible crunching sound rings in my ears as he brings his fist down again, and again, and again. "Thomas stop!" I shout, pulling him away from the guy who now lays on the ground with a bloodied face.

Thomas's knuckles are bright red and bleeding. He looks back at the guy as I pull him away.

"I'm sorry Newt," Thomas mumbles. Ignoring him I let go of him arm and we walk in silence back to his dorm.
