Eyes Open [HGxR]

Chapter 2

The night sky proceeds to give a beautiful view of the stars. Cool breeze pass Y/N's body shivering at the coldness. They're now waiting at the boat house for the rest of the 1st years that's still cruising to the castle.

She kept her hands in her robe pockets as she stands near the stairs, leaning on the thick railings with her legs crossed.

They already formed their little groups as they wait, chattering about their magical experience on the way here. Y/N just scoffed keeping her head down as she unintentionally eavesdrop on someone mentioning her last name.

"How cool is that, (Y/L/N) and Potter are here same as our year." A kid with dark haired said.

"What do you think their houses are going to be?"

With the last one getting up from the boats they started walking up the castle. Y/N tuned all of them out as she trails behind the group.

How do you even talk to people. Y/N thought.

When they enetered the Great Hall everyone looked up just to see tons of candle floating and the night sky illuminating on the ceiling.

"Alright everyone before we sort you to your houses let's do some introduction shall we?" McGonagall said. Y/N glanced to the right and saw the bushy-haired girl from earlier.

She shook her head and turned her head to the front. The name calling and the sorting is long enough for Y/N to drift off to space.

Not knowing Y/N is zoning out, the Professor started sorting them.

"Harry Potter"

Y/N saw a raven-haired boy with glasses walking up to the hat. Seeing it place on top of his head, the hat suddenly spoke.

The hat was debating whether the boy would be placed in Slytherin, Harry however was mumbling with his eyes shut.

"Better be...Gyffindor!" The hat shouted and the whole hall erupted into cheers specially the table in the center.

"Y/N Y/L/N" Mcgonagall called, Y/N just walked in front not caring why the noises from behind her become whispers.

"A (Y/L/N), How fortunate, your bloodline is still alive. Hmm, Interesting, you believe you can finish your time here at Hogwarts on your own? There's no doubt you can do that, intelligence is running in your blood. Then again, you'll do perfectly at Gryffindor, they'll help you with your social insecurities..."

Y/N looking around the room starting to feel anxious and pissed off because of how long the Sorting hat is babbling about. Y/N doesn't like being in the spotlight for too long, It gives her a weird feeling in her stomach.

"Better be...Slytherin!"

The Slytherin table erupted and welcomed their new housemate. Y/N saw the other table went gloomy, thinking it was nothing she sat down while shaking hands with the students around her.

Looking towards the teacher's table, An old man stands up silencing everyone.

"Hey"

Y/N looked behind her seeing a raven-haired girl smiling at her.

"I'm Pansy, Nice to meet you"

Pansy lets out her hand waiting for you to accept.

"I'm.."

"Y/L/N, yes, I know you're pretty famous here other than Potter" Pansy said cutting you off, decided not to answer anymore knowing that she already know who you are.

"We never thought you'll come back, I mean let alone be our Housemate" she kept on talking.

"Anyways you can hang out with us, This is Draco, Crabbe and Goyle." She pointed the 3 boys across from her and gave them a nod.

Y/N wasn't feeling well all of a sudden. With Pansy still talking and the 3 boys joining the conversation.

Looking to the table across from hers, she saw that raven-haired boy and the ginger head talking. Glancing in front of them she saw Hermione eating while listening intently the 2 boys in front of her.

Hermione saw Y/N and greeted her by waving her hand. Y/N just raised an eyebrow and looked down to her food.

Y/N is sharing a room with 4 girls, one of them being Pansy Parkinson.

Taking the bed near the window and the bathroom. Unpacking her stuff, she lets out Axyl from his cage and put him on top of it.

While the 4 girls talking to each other, Pansy tried prying Y/N off her bed to go talk with the other girls in their dormitory. She declined and closed the drapes around her bed. She would rather prefer reading her book and minding her own business other than gossiping about the cute boys they saw at Dinner.

Disgusting

Seeing that it's already midnight, Y/N stopped reading and looked around the room sounding eerie quiet. She saw the girls fast asleep, Pansy snoring near her. She tried to sleep but it took her 20 minutes to do so but when she did fell asleep she ended up thinking what tomorrow is going to give her.

/N woke up earlier than the other girls in her dorm. Her body clock is still the same due to her father's strict schedule.

She sighed and grabbed the bottled water on her night stand chucking it empty.

5:45

Everyone is still fast asleep. Their common room is colder than it seems since they're underwater. The window is pretty cool seeing a giant squid pass by from time to time. Y/N liked that but the others who first saw it screamed.

She went to the bathroom to take a quick shower and change into her Slytherin uniform. After all that, Pansy and the others are still asleep.

Y/N shook her head and grabbed her wand from the drawer walking out of the dormitory as quiet as possible.
