Clever title huh? XD ^^
Leia
The air had stilled as the sky turned a brownish yellow. The rest of the Alliance ships had arrived. Sitting crosslegged on the grassy ground, Leia tried to locate Luke and her father using to Force, but there was nothing. She bit her lip nervously as she glanced at the Alliance soldiers. They wore all white and stood firmly, awaiting their attack signal. The signal that they could destroy Darth Midas' base. Where was her father?
Maya was waiting by Master Windu's side, anxiously adjusting her bandages. She looked her way and smiled weakly. Leia's mother was in the same place she had been for the last hour; at the edge of the group of Alliance ships, staring into the direction of the base. Just standing there. Waiting for any sign of the other half of their family. Waiting.
Han approached her from where he had been waiting with Obi-wan. "Hey, Princess," he greeted casually. Leia rolled her eyes as he sat down beside her, "Would you please stop calling me that?"
Han shrugged as if unaware the nickname had been bothering her. "Sorry, Leia." Leia groaned and looked away from him, "You make things so difficult sometimes..." she muttered. Han scooted closer to her, "I know, I really do," he said to himself. When Leia didn't reply, he continued talking, "But you could be a little nicer. Come on, admit it. I'm not always such a bad guy." Leia turned to look at him. She debated what to say. "Occasionally. Maybe. When you aren't acting like a Nerf herder..." she finally replied. Han laughed, "Nerf herder? Ouch!" he joked, as if emotionally hurt by her words. Leia elbowed him in the shoulder, but she wasn't nearly as big or as strong as he was.
She had to admit though, he was easing her worry about Luke and her father. It was good to have someone to laugh with. Han really wasn't that big of a Nerf herder anyways...
Padme
Where were they? How long would the strike team hold off the attack? Rett's clones would surely return eventually and they were running out of time.
Padme wiped tears away from her eyes as she watched the evening sky grow dimmer and dimmer. It had been quite a day. Quite an adventure.
The clouds carried across the sky in wispy streaks of mud brown colors. The wind whipped against her side as she pulled her cloak closer to her body. Please... Please come back...
Padme thought about when she had first held Luke and Leia in her arms with her husband by her side. She had never imagined letting her family back into a galaxy of war and politics but there she was; waiting for her husband and son to return from enemy lines. It wouldn't take long for this to become routine.
As Padme thought about her family's future, she swore she saw a small figure out in the distance. At first, she shrugged it away. She was sure that it was probably just an animal, or maybe even her imagination. But then the figure grew larger, and closer. Before she could make out the figure's ocean blue eyes, she knew that it was her husband.
"Anakin!"
Anakin
A small, petite, frame came into view with a wild mane of brown curls flying behind her. Anakin felt his weak muscles regain there strength as he carried his unconscious son in his arms. "Padme!" he shouted as his wife ran towards him. His strides were long and quick as he hurried to meet his wife half way.
Not far behind her were Obi-wan, Mace Windu, a team of men in white, and his little Leia. Padme wrapped her arms around his neck as Anakin murmured into her ear. "Padme. You're safe..."
Padme instantly pulled away and looked down at Luke. She brought her hands to her mouth, "Oh my baby..." Obi-wan was by his side before Anakin could say anything else. "Anakin! What happened?" he asked as the medical team unfolded a stretcher for Luke.
Anakin gently set his son onto the stretcher and brushed back the blond hair that had fallen over his closed eyes. "Midas..." he answered softly. As the medics carried Luke away to be examined, Leia followed after her brother. She turned back to her father suddenly, with tears welling up in her eyes. She ran toward him and hugged his chest tight.
"Daddy? Is Luke... Is he...?" she asked, but could not finish her words.
"I don't know Leia."
