"No way." Ruce said after I told him what Xenon said.

Nandito kami ngayon sa labas ng kwarto niya. We're whispering dahil baka marinig ni Xenon.

"I know! It's unbelievable!" Ani ko.

I know I'm still skeptical about trusting Ruce on this but I needed to talk to someone to let this out. I can't just call Rave in the middle of the night! He's probably busy or something.

"Pero tingin mo... Baka sinabi niya lang iyon para hindi siya mapagalitan ng magulang niya? Kapag napahamak ka, baka mapagalitan siya..." Ruce countered.

I glanced at him. I made sure he saw how my face crumpled at his thoughts. "Ruce, umamin ka nga. Kampi ka ba sa akin o hindi? Sometimes you're trustable. Sometimes... You're sly."

Instead of answering me, he copied my crumpled face. I groaned in frustration.

"...Ruby, instead of doubting me... Polish your plan first. Kahit ako, naguguluhan ng konti sa 'yo."

"You're trying to change the topic!"

"No I'm not."

"You are! A second ago I thought you're a bit trustable and now... Ruce! Are you tricking me?!"

"Why would I trick you? I'm protecting you, you know." He rolled his eyes.

I pointed a finger at him. "If you betray me, I swear..."

He chuckled. "Yeah, right. Ako mismo ang magtutulak sa 'yo sa dagat. Stop being doubtful!"

Ngumuso ako nang tumalikod na siya at kumaway bago pumasok sa kwarto niya. He's really unpredictable. I hope the universe would give him someone to divert his attention from being mischievous.

As I walk inside my room, thoughts about tomorrow kept creeping up on me. Hindi ako makatulog ng maayos kaya nang mag-umaga na, ramdam ko ang pagod ng isip ko.

I kept shifting in my bed. Hindi ako mapakali. Parang nung unang beses na nagkita ulit kami. Katulad nung mga panahong... Hindi ko siya kasama.

Ganunpaman, maaga akong nag-ayos. Nang marinig ko ulit na tumunog ang pintuan mula sa gawi ng kwarto ni Xenon, agad-agad akong lumabas ngunit hindi ko pinahalata ang hindi mapakaling emosyon sa puso ko.

I froze when I saw Xenon staring at me curiously. Nakahawak pa siya sa door knob. Mahina ako napamura.

Mukhang hindi pa siya nakakalayo. Masyado yata akong excited? I hope he won't notice.

"Oh, h-hey. Good morning..." Nag-iwas ako ng tingin at mabilis na lumakad pababa sa hagdan. I gulped nervously.

His hair was messy. He's just wearing a shirt and sweatpants so I guess... Hindi siya nagmamadali ngayon?

I was hoping he'd follow me. In my peripheral vision, I saw that he did.

Tahimik lang kaming bumaba hanggang sa makarating sa dining. Memories from the past suddenly flashed in my mind.

I missed this.

Pagkabukas ko pa lang ng fridge ay naramdaman ko na ang titig ni Xenon sa likod ko. He was eyeing me seriously and I think I knew what he meant already.

"Hindi ako kakain ng cake for breakfast..." I defended.

He cocked his head, trying to weigh the truth in my words. I licked my lips as I try to search the fridge for other foods.

Sa kaloob-looban ko, gusto ko talaga ng cake. Pero alam ko na... May isang kokontra diyan.

I felt him walking behind me. Mahina niyang tinapik ang balikat ko kaya napalingon ako. He was too close so I backed away a little. Muntikan pa akong matumba pero hinawakan niya ang braso ko at mabilis akong binalanse patayo.
