I Will Never Let

Me and Xenon were strolling in this big mall. I wasn't even surprised whenever I caught people looking at him. No matter how many times, hindi pa rin ako sanay pero hindi na rin ako nagtataka.

I mean, even if some people are not aware of his family background, kung titingnan mo lang siya, maga-asume ka talaga na celebrity siya or some public figure.

He just looks like that even if madalas mukha siyang tambay para sa akin! Him and his corny jokes.

Pareho lang ang damit namin kanina sa airport. We were too lazy to change.

"Aren't I too handsome?" Mayabang niyang bulong habang naglalakad kami. I was holding his arm.

"Kapag nalaman nila na mahilig kang magsabi ng mga corny na jokes, they'll be turned off."

"Okay lang. Ang importante, hindi ka turn off sa akin." He grinned.

"Malapit na," Biro ko.

He pouted. "Hindi pwede."

"Anong hindi pwede?" Tawa ko. "Para kang bata d'yan. Ang tangkad-tangkad mo pa naman."

"Kahit matangkad, nasasaktan pa rin." He said dramatically.

I almost held my head. "Xenon, walang connect ang mga pinagsasabi mo."

"I know right."

Gosh!

"Hello Kuya! Pwede po bang magpapicture?" A girl suddenly approached us. I think she's younger than me and Xenon.

"Sure."

Gulat akong napatingin kay Xenon dahil pumayag siya. Nang makitang umusog ang babae sa tabi niya para kumuha ng litrato, aalis na sana ako para hindi madamay sa picture pero nagulat ako nang hilahin ako ni Xenon sa tabi niya.

Kaya ang resulta, nasama ako sa picture! When it should've been only him!

"Thanks po!" The girl said before running away.

Hinarap ko si Xenon. "Why did you do that? Hindi naman ako ang pipicturan! Ikaw!"

"Exactly. At dahil ako, kailangan kasama ka."

"At bakit naman?"

"'Cause you're my girlfriend. Tinatanong pa ba iyan?" He pinched my cheeks.

I was speechless. I wasn't expecting that. Alam kong cheesy siya but... Really...

"If you don't wanna lose me as your girlfriend, dalian mong maglakad. Let's make this quick. Gusto ko ng umuwi at kainin ang cake, Xenon."

"Hmm... What if ayoko?"

"Please?" I muttered with fluttering eyes.

And... He was gone. "Okay. Panalo ka na. Sabi mo e."

"Yes! Tara na!"

"You are such a dangerous weapon against me. What if people use you to try and defeat me?"

"Sino naman ang magtatangka sa iyo? Baka nga ako pa ang magtangka."

"Hmm... Really? If that's the case... Then I'd gladly lose."

I gave him a deadpan. Hindi dapat siya ang nagsasabi nun. It should be me. What if people use him to defeat me? Hindi ko kakayanin. Back then, I wasn't really scared.

But now that I've come to love Xenon... I realized that there's more to the world than being brave and strong.

There's more than revenge. There's more than anger. Love conquers all and even the me of the past is not an exception to that.
