"Flaire, is there a problem? You look bothered. Hindi ka ba natutuwa sa palabas? I can change it to your liking." Nag-aalalang sabi sa akin ni Xenon nang mapansin na wala ako sa huwisyo.

He suddenly stopped watching the movie when he noticed me not moving at all. I was staring at the floor. Tsaka lang ako napabalik sa realidad ng marinig ang boses niya.

"What? Nope. I'm fine. Walang problema." I replied even if my tone meant otherwise. Halata sa boses ko na hindi ako mapanatag.

He noticed that and held both of my shoulders.

"Is it your situation? Bawal ko bang malaman? Exclusive?" He asked.

I nodded. Because it was true. And he doesn't like lies. I don't either. Not when it comes to him.

"Yes. Part of my life here from before. I don't want you involved."

"Okay. I respect that. But one condition, alright?" He tried to bargain. "As long as you're safe and not hurt. Ayos lang na hindi ko malaman ang mga bagay na hindi mo pwedeng ipaalam sa akin. So please? Take care of yourself."

I stared back at him for a while. Completely noticing every detail of his face. And how deep and dark his eyes are. Pakiramdam ko, nalulunod ako.

"Yes, Xenon. Alright..." I answered to assure him but he didn't look assured enough.

"The last time we had a misunderstanding, you ran away. Bukod don, kapag wala ako, somehow, you always get hurt because of me." He sighed. "Please, Flaire. I don't mind getting hurt as long as you're safe. Please? Remember that."

Huminga ako ng malalim bago tumango. Yes but not quite, Xenon. I wanted to protect him also. Kaya diyan kami hindi magkakasundo ng perpekto.

He wants to protect me even if it hurts him and I wanna protect him even if it means risking my safety.

Kung nababasa niya man ang nasa utak ko ngayon, paniguradong baka iuwi niya ako sa isla at huwag na akong pakawalan pa. Mas malala sa naging desisyon ni Lolo.

But for me... It's not actually that bad. Being caged by him on the island is not a horrible thing at all. For sure, I'll enjoy it more than hate it.

Patuloy ang tingin niya sa akin na tila ba ayaw maniwala na pumapayag ako. I chuckled and hugged him to give more assurance. He hugged me back too.

He knows how stubborn I am. Kaya alam ko kung bakit siya nagdududa ngayon. He knows how strong and brave I am that I can do anything without him. Because that's my life before I met him. Wala akong maaasahan ng buo bukod sa sarili ko.

However, there's him now. And it's hard to adjust but for love, nothing is impossible.

"Gusto mo pa bang manatili? We can book an early flight. Nasa iyo naman ang desisyon. I'm just here to fulfill what you want..." Malambing niyang sabi habang yakap pa rin ako. He placed his chin above my head.

I could feel his heart beating. Ramdam ko rin ang lalim ng hininga niya. I smiled to myself before lightly patting his back.

"It's okay, Xenon..." I softly said.

"You say that but your actions say otherwise." Sabi niyang alam kong may halong pag-aalala. "I saw how worried you are. You almost cried. It gave me an idea of how dangerous this is for you. Why would you cry if not, right?"

I only nodded to give him peace. Ayaw ko nang magsalita. I don't wanna think anymore as well.

"I may not know how your life works even before you came to the island. But I can adjust, Flaire. Teach me the things I can do in order to help you. I'm not fond of violence and fights since I hate complications but if it means protecting you, I can learn to defend you." Aniya pa.
