Chapter 26

1st POV:

I had spent the whole morning at the hospital with Takashi and the rest of the boys. It turns that we were all a lot more tired than we let on. I had fallen asleep on the chair next to Takashi, leaning my head on his lap as he slept. Hakkai had fallen asleep on another chair laying his head near Takashi's feet while Angry was asleep on Smiley's bed. 

I woke to my phone ringing again, waking everyone else. "Who is it?" Takashi asked as I pulled my phone out of my pocket.

"Huh? It's... Chifuyu." I said as I looked up at him before answering. "Hey, Chifuyu...  I'm at the hospital with Takashi and the others... wait, what?... when?... N-no. That can't be right. No. No No. If this is some kind of sick joke, stop it right now!"

"Hey. what's going on?" Takashi asks as he takes the phone from me and begins talking to Chifuyu. The other boys look at me as my breathing becomes unsteady. 

"Emma-chan..." Takashi hangs up the call and turns to the others,

"It's Emma-chan, Mikey's sister. Tenjiku- they... she's dead."

"What going to happen with the fight? Is it still going to happen?" Angry asked looking between everyone. 

"Chifuyu said they're still meeting. We should go." Takashi replied.

"We'll take you guys to the meeting and then go with Y/N-chan to see Emma-chan," Smiley said.

"I- I- uh- Emma-chan... they... no... no they wouldn't have." Takashi sat up hugging me,

"It's ok Y/N. Shhh... Shhh. It's alright." Takashi said as he rubbed circles on my back. 

"No, it's not. They- they killed her... I- I need to see Chifuyu and Takemichi." I said as I stood up, "They'll be at the meeting, right? We need to go."

Timeskip

We arrived at the Toman meeting, Smiley and Takashi both in wheelchairs. Everyone was talking about how they wouldn't go to the battle with Tenjiku if Mikey and Draken weren't going to be there. Takemichi and Chifuyu were standing there trying to convince everyone to fight.

"This Takemitchy... he doesn't fight to win," Smiley said as Angry wheeled him through the crowd, "I slipped out from the hospital!" He smiled at everyone. 

"Well, Takemichi is an idiot, that's why he never runs. Take these two with you." Takashi joined in.

"You can't carry Toman all alone, you know." Angry chimed in.

"Right, Onjin?" Hakkai added. (Onjin means someone you owe your life to)

I left Takashi side as I walked up to Chifuyu. He saw me walking over and enveloped me in a hug, "I'm so sorry Y/N." He said as he held me.

"Wha-what happened?" I asked. Takemichi had now noticed me and walked over

"I'm so sorry Y/N. It was my fault. I was with her and then Kisaki... he came out of nowhere on a bike. I thought he would've gone for me- Emma-chan was right behind me. I'm sorry, I could've stop-"

I interrupted Takemichi as I pulled him into a hug, "Hey, Takemichi... Shhh, it's alright. It's not your fault. I know it's not your fault." I tried to comfort him.

"But- Draken and Mikey... they- they were fighting," Takemichi muttered as I held him.

"I know, it's ok. They're just very hurt. It's not your fault. Now go out there and kick some Tenjiku butt!!" I smiled at him.

"You got it!" he smiled back. 

"Our chances to win is zero to none!! But if we run now, then consider it the end of Toman! We have to prove that we are Toman, right?! Even if Mikey is not here... Toman will never lose!!"  Chifuyu yelled, firing everyone up as they chanted Toman.

"I won't let things... end this way!" Takemichi said to the two of us. 

I watched with Takashi and Smiley as the members of Toman marched off before, we too started to leave.

It was quiet as we headed to where Emma was. None of us talked as we walked- well I walked, along. I think we all were just having a bad day. Emma was gone, and the boys were fighting 50 to 300 against Tenjiku. 

"Hey, Smiley! What's up? You seem spaced out." Takashi finally broke the silence. 

"Oh... Nah, something just came up in mind."  Smiley replied

"What is it?" Takashi asked.

"Ever since that day, he always tags along with me, that guy. I wonder if he'll be alright on his own... Angry... Bet he's crying again..."

"You're being too overprotective... but don't worry about it. Those guys are damn strong!!" Takashi stated as he smiled, thinking about the boys. 

"Angry is just a very nice person... so beating someone up is not his thing, you know?" Smiley said back.

"Haha... well, that's just how he is huh..."

"But you know, once he starts crying, it'll get different. He's got his limits...  The "Orge" comes out. During our 4th year of elementary school, I got ganged up by 10 middle school kids. When angry saw that, he started crying. The next thing I knew, all those middle schoolers ended up in the hospital, seriously injured." Smiley explained.

"That's why you made him promise to never cry again.." I finally spoke up, turning to Smiley as he nodded in reply,

"Yep! The crying blue ogre, he is 100 times stronger than me." 

"Woah! Really?!" I asked in surprise. Causing Smiley to chuckle and nod. 

I smiled as we walked along, "What are you smiling about?" Takashi asked.

"Oh... I was just thinking that I'm really glad I met you guys and everyone else in Toman. You guys are really cool, you know? I'm so glad I met all of you. I know why Toman was so important to Keisuke... now Toman's important to me too." I smiled at the two boys as we walked along. 

"...You guys go on alone, I have to go do something," Smiley said suddenly.

"Hm? What? Do you want us to come with you?" I asked.

"No, it's fine. You guys go ahead." He replied as he left us.

Takashi and I continued in silence until we got outside the hospital where Emma was. "Uh- I- I don't think I can go in," I said, coming to stop as we made it to the door. "I don't think I can see Emma-chan like this... I- I- need to go... I can't be here..." I said as I felt my breathing becoming more rapid. Takashi grabbed my hand,

"It's ok Y/N... Are you sure you don't want to go in?"  Takashi asked as I nodded my head stepping backwards, away from the door. "Alright, if you change your mind we can come back," Takashi smiled softly at me, "I'll take you home..." I nodded my head at him and began walking. I was stopped as I realised Takashi couldn't hold my hand and wheel himself,

"Oh-h... sorry," I said slightly embarrassed.

"You... could sit on my lap and I'll wheel both of us.." I flushed bright red as I let go of his hand turning around and walking away. "I was kidding!" He says as he wheels after me, I turn back towards him as I giggle,

"Do you want a push?" I offer. Takashi smiles at my playful expression as I walk back towards him.
