Chapter 16

The Magister Novem Sages lived in constent fear since the day Turk the black chorus took over. This was true even to the few that agreed with the actions of Turk and Ater Nebula. None of them could figure out Ater, who now advised Turk in every way. Ater was unpredictable and often advised Turk to kill other. What surprised the rest of the Sages was the fact that Turk would follow through with the killing.

Turks power was also growing all the time aswell. This perpexed all the other Sages because Turk was old and not the type that would suddenly choose to train to gain power. Thus everyone was confused because they could feel his aura getting stronger and stronger over the past month, so everyone was noticably worried.

"We are the root of this tree we call Crim Tälias. Why must we feel this oppression imposed on us because the influence of one man?" Shien the orange chorus spat once Turk and his followers left the chamber.

"This is a very confusing and we are all aggitated because of this situation. While voicing your opinion is important an out burst of anger isn't good for any of us Shien. So, please calm yourself." Retorted Cel'ist the blue chorus.

"I am calm! The more appropriate terms for my feelings would be frustration and impotence. Both derived from my inability to stop this Madman and empty shell of an old friend." Shien chastized himself.

"There isn't a person within this room that doesn't understand what you are feeling. We're all in the same boat. We all wish to do something that will save our friend and our village, but, as we are at this present time. Doing something that will make an impact isn't within our capabilities." Piora the green chorus spoke in her quite and captivating voice.

"That doesn't mean that we can't try." Fernir spoke finally.

The four of them became quite and silence enveloped the Chamber of the Sages. The pungent incents were still burning fogging everyones thoughts adding to the uncomfortable feelings the group had. This only supplemented more animosity toward Turk and his new advisor because of the direction they were leading life in Crim Tälias.

Shien, Fernir, Cel'ist, and Piora sat in silence mulling over the situation. None of the faces in the room were displaying any clear signs of reasonable thought. The atmospher was a heavy mix of complicated emotions. Time lost its meaning as the group sat in utter silence. After a long while they each of them left the chamber to return to their homes. Their fearful moods remained even as each of them returned to their seperate dwellings.

Shien was the first to return to his home. He is of the Raven clan and they were the Carpenters of Crim Tälias. They were responsible for the construction of majority of the buildings within the ever growing village. Shien's home was no exception. His home was a masterpiece of carpentry and architecture.

The high thick beamed arched ceiling. Molded seamlessly into the intricately designed buttresses. The quality in the architectural design in this home far surpassed the average and many of the elite buildings. The wood on the floor and the ceiling was stained dark giving the room an exquisite contrast of light and dark.

Shien returned to his bed. He didn't have a room with doors because the whole entire second level was a loft. The staircase leading to the loft was designed like tree braches with leaves. At the head and foot of the hand rail collums stood Ravens. The loft only had a large four post bed as its furniture. It was an immensley large bed that had a small set steps surrounding its surface.

The nights activities and recent events left him exhausted. Sleep didn't come easily but, of asleep nothing could disturb his slumber. There was no exception to this night. Shien wasn't feeling well and finding sleep was difficult. This was par course to his new trend of sleeping habits. However, tonight something was different.
