Chapter 31

After freeing himself from Ater Nebula and discovering his power. Imio was traveling alone in a southern direction. Following the mountain range. The trek had been quite and peaceful for a few days as he traveled. Passing small lakes so clear you could see into it depths from the shores. Walking into forest that were think with lush natural gardens. Bearing fruits, vegetables, tubers and nuts of all verities.

These quite days weren't all about lazily traveling south at his leisure. Irma was re-educating Imio about herbs, roots, minerals and the abundant uses of different plants in combination.

Irma was always graceful and elegant. She wasn't the easiest teacher because she always expected results. Imio was no different in his pursuit of knowledge. He was relentless and always wanted a positive result.

The praise he would receive from Irma sent a warmth down his spine he could describe. However, what he did understand was that he liked being recognized for his accomplishments. Which of course made Imio want to produce results even more.

Imio had been traveling for about two weeks. One evening he was sitting by his campfire. He was roasting fish close to the fire on wooden planks. He filled an earth woven pot he made himself with water. What was boiling inside was some herbs and three different types of tubers. The aroma the meal he was cooking was giving of was earthy and delicious. A rustling sound come from the bushes behind the spot where he was sitting.

*Irma pyramid shield.* Imio thought calmly.

Just as a set of three wild Plains Coyotes attacked from his blind side. A violet light sparkled from Imio's earring. Before the dogs could get within striking distance they would be repelled. Forcefully pushing them back.

A few yips, yelps and growls escaped the mouths of the Coyotes in frustration. However after a few more failed attempts at Imio's life the small hunting group retreated. To either attack at another time or to give up completely Imio couldn't tell.

*Thank you Irma. I really wasn't in the mood to deal with those animals personally.*

*You seem to be getting proficient at using my shield.* Irma complimented.

*Thanks but you and I both know that my understand as it is know. Is equivalent to that of rudimentary levels at best. Let's be honest now.* Imio laughed he compliment away.

*I think your to hard on yourself.*

*We'll just have to agree to disagree on this subject.*

*I'll drop it for now.*

*Thank you.* Imio smiled.

Taking a moment he looked up into the starry night sky. The fire that was cooking his food. Created a ten meter radius of illumination. Making one feel warmth and comfort because what you see can be identified. Outside that illumination is the darkness of the unknown. Things yet to be discovered.

However, from the outside. The fire is like a beckon of promise. A guiding light to show a new direction. Or it shines light on a new idea.

*That's what each one of those balls of light are in the sky to me. Knowledge and endless possibilities*

*Having contemplative thoughts like that are what makes you the bearer of Alchemy.* Irma responded. Silence feel upon them.

Crack, crackle, hiss went the logs as the moss and moisture was forced from the wood. Imio ate his food as the embers of his fire slowly burned away. Spending the rest of that night in a contemplative state.
