Chapter 2

The fire popped and snapped a few times in front of Tsuga while he took a moment to gather his words. "Let's Continue..."

The hard face of an aged man that moved to the front of the charred field was called Rin. He was the oldest of the four brothers in the Dragon clan. All of whom were extremely talented in the art of the fire elemental working. But none of his younger brotherss had the abilities of Rin. He was special even at a young age. His abilities were always well known but his fighting prowess was not. So, the Fire elemental's were surprised to witness him stepping forward.

"However, because of this eventful doom filled and unpleasant evening. Rin would soon be the catalyst to the Phoenix clan the tenth and final family of the fire tribe." Tsuga emphasized Phoenix with a strange sort of awe.

Not wasting time upon reaching the front line. Rin created a wall of fire that was three meters wide and thirty meters in length. The firewall he created was large enough to protect the whole tribe. It was broad and dense not allowing anything through. Its flames licked and kissed the open air with ambient light and joyful crackles. Even as the now musty smelling breeze was moving the thick air around the open field. Only to serve as fuel blowing leaves and debris that would disintegrate instantly when approaching close enough to the wall of flames.

You could hear to screams and sudden shrieks of the monsters that tested their luck with the flames of the wall. Instantly disintegrating the bulging eyed Lizard monsters turning them into ash. This firewall of Rin's successfully blocked the monsters from making any more advances. The tension eased a little. This became the turning point of the battle. With a little bit of the tension released the tribe members were allowed the time to analyze and understand the whole situation.

The wise and battle ready were the first to start moving. Finally seeing the whole scope of what they were up against. Preparations needed to be made and in a hurry. There were an innumerable amount of monsters milling around on one side of the firewall. On the tribal side as well there were frantic fire nomads scrambling to aide others.

Rin's thought:

The stars seemed dimmer now. Or at least that is what it looks like from my prospective. I could've sworn they were brighter just a little while ago. Well, I shouldn't complain because it a wounder I can see any stars at all with all this light beaming from this firewall I to put up. What lousy timing. My wife could give birth at any minute. So all night during the celebration I was worrying about her. So I didn't really get to celebrate properly. And now this... We get attacked by some weird looking slimy big gogaly eyed Lizard monsters! They chose the wrong night... Rin's facial expression hardened even further.

"Everyone get back." Rin's voice was like thunder as he moved into place.

"I won't leave you!" A woman's voice pierced its way through the crowd to him. She was standing far to the back looking very pregnant. Her belly was big to the point where it changed her style of walking.

"Don't worry about me, just get back, go back to a safer area!" His voice now etched with irritation as he tried to shoo her away.

"No! You know that I won't leave you!" She argued. Tears wheeling up in her eyes. Her arms gentle cradling her belly,

"Wing!" He paused. "I have everything under control and I need you to get back and to safety." Rin's voice changed from harsh to soothing slow and rhythmic, yet somehow still carried across the noise of the crowds. "This is not just for you it's for me too." Rin's face was pleading.

"Wait!?! What do you mean? Why must I...?" Wing couldn't understand her voice sounded meek.

"Wing if you stay close to me. I won't be able to focus all of my strength on the fight. You will be a distraction and that may cost me my life." His voice was sorrowful but authoritative.
