Chapter 24
"What did you say!?!" Turk seethed.
"You heard me!" Ruby cracked her knuckles. "I don't stutter.... I clearly asked. Who was first? By the looks of it Turk you are the sole person causing this ruckus. Why don't we just finish this quickly. You and me."
"Hahahahaha, You believe yourself to be a match to my power? Have you forgotten what happened to those Sages that opposed me? Or did it not register in that feeble brain of yours that my current power is many times greater than it was before?" Turk questioned. A mocking smile crossed his lips. "You're nothing more than a child. Having a temper tantrum. Now run along before I decide to make an example out of you."
"WHAT!!!! You old decrepit, vagabond, codger. I'll make you regret angering me. I have had to endure quite the punishment while watching someone precious to me drift further and further away. I came here to relieve some of that stress. And you dare insult me a surviving member of the exclusion Rinko squad."
Ruby threw a huge fireball at Turk. The fact that there was no incantation surprised all of the Magister Sages that remained Turk included. However, the power of the elemental attack wasn't enough to give Turk any real concern. He simply raised his hand and caught the massive ball of fire.
"Hmmmm..." Was the sound that escaped his mouth as his brow furrowed in response to this ball in his hand. He scowled and looked at Ruby sternly.
Ruby must have expected as much because her reaction to him catching her fireball was none existent. She too was starring at Turk as he was her. Her brow was heavily furrowed and her hand was resting on her hip in a defiant gesture.
"You seem to have a great deal of power young lady." Turk examined the fireball in his hand. "But, you should know that this level isn't not enough to defeat me. Though I couldn't say the same for the rest of the Magister Sages in front of you." He paused. "I'm curious as to how you have acquired this power without the Sages being informed?" His question was more from a intrigued standpoint rather than a concerned one.
This irritated Ruby even further. Her answer was curtly and harsh. "You weren't informed because you aren't necessary."
"Ouch, little one. Be mindful of your words or you might be liable to hurt my feelings." Turks responded sarcastically making Ruby loose focus.
"Why you!" Ruby gritted her teeth and was about to launch and even more powerful fire technique.
However, just before she finished her incantation. The ranks of her troop parted. Making way as Opul passed through. She walked at a cool pace to where Ruby was standing. A breeze blew at that moment from the West. Blowing her robes and short hair as it rippled and waved to the East. She stopped when she was standing even with Ruby.
"Did I miss any of the Fun?" Her question was chipper sounding, but, Ruby felt her malicious undertone. Canceling the incantation she was about to unleash onto Turk.
"Um, no not yet. I've thrown a fireball but, that was more out of anger than actually used as something that could defeat Turk in his current state." Ruby responded.
"Hmmm....." Opul assessed the situation. Looking from Turk who was still holding onto the large fireball Ruby threw and the remaining Magister Sages. Stepping forward she addressed the remaining Sages. "It is not to late for the rest of you to surrender. Come quietly and I can guarantee your lives and status."
"That's not an option." Turk barked and the area feel silent.
Opul looked at Turk for a few minutes. The expression on his face showed his resolve. However, the remaining Sages obviously didn't share his sentiments. Exasperated Opul exhaled deeply. "Sigh. Very well Turk this will play out as you have wished it to."
