Chapter 28
"How is this possible?" Rinko asked.
*That is a very long story. One that will have to take a back seat to your own for now.*
*She is right, we've got important matters to discuss.* Renkõtsou spoke in Rinko's head.
*Right, right...* Rinko reluctantly turned and faced the mural once again. Ba bump Ba bump his heart began pounding again.
*Now Opul, I need you to go join Rinko on the platform.*
She did what she was asked. Jumping from the stone throne landing next to Rinko and Renkõtsou. The feeling of power rushing though her vanes was completely different than anything she had ever felt. This new sensation warmed her to the core. Relishing the feeling for a few moments before looking up only to be face to face with the mural once again.
However, this time just looking at the mural triggered a interesting response. Her heart began to beat hard and rapidly. Ba bump, Ba Bump, BA BUMP. The palpitations were so strong that it felt like her chest would burst. Opul placed a hand over her chest and went down to one knee to combat the sudden onslaught of pain.
"What is this?" Opul agonized looking in Rinko's direction for answers.
"Beats me." He too was down on one knee holding his chest. However, Renkotsou was supporting him.
Opul's vision became blurred. She felt as if she were suffocating. Suddenly the air began shimmering around her. Similarly to how the air shimmered around Rinko before Renkotsou appeared in his human form. Slowly a figure began to form on the side of Opul.
*Get up Child. You destiny awaits you.* She lifted Opul up from the ground much the same way Renkotsou did to Rinko. *First let me introduce myself, I am Crescent* Her crimson eyes focused on Opul's face.
"Of course I know who you are. It's not like I could forget the face of the person that gave me my gift allowing my to become a Magister Novem Sage."
*Is that so? I thought that you would have been to young to remember much about me from your childhood. I'm glad that I was able to make such a good impression on you even with our shot time together.*
"Well, that's going to change now isn't it partner."
*That it is child. That it is.* Crescent smiled.
"Would you to mind feeling me in on this conversation because I'm completely confused?" Rinko spoke up interrupting the conversation between Opul and his Mother who has become a guardian spirit.
Opul and Crescent stopped and looked at Rinko with puzzled expressions. Both began to chuckle at the same time. When they realized that Rinko could still hear every word of their conversation.
"I don't feel that there was humor in the words I just spoke." Rinko sounded irritated.
Crescent turned to face Rinko. *My, my, my aren't you an impatient one. I don't remember you being this way as a child.*
"Many things have changed since then. But, this irritation is not caused by our reunion. This mural..." Rinko feel silent as another wave of strong heart beats pulsed through him.
*Oh, that's right. Let me explain.* She looked from Rinko to Opul and back again. Finally she turned her attention onto the mural. *This is a mural done by the sorcerous Magdar. Long before the world turned into the Elemental divided States that we have know. Back when she was a child the humans of this world used a power called Gaia. From the research that I have gathered about this ancient power called Gaia. I have come to understand that this is the underlining power that controls the World we live in. It can also be said that Gaia power is the combination of all the Elemental powers discovered and that which has yet to be discovered.*
