Ximena watched Max kill Alaya, leaving her to the lava. Her scream was overpowered by the cannon and the sound of the lava rushing over every possible thing it could reach. Max was now running again, staring them dead in the eye. It was like he was saying they were next.
Ximena hopped from tree to tree, trying to get as far from there as they possibly could. Max had reached a deeper part of the trees now, sword out. It was like he had gone insane. He wanted to win at any cost.
"This isn't like Max - what's happened to him?" Ximena thought, grasping their spear. Eventually, they made it to the other side of the arena. They dropped down, safe from the lava.
Suddenly, they were encircled by flames.
