Keith's POV-

Pico stood there, glaring me down.

"It doesn't matter. You of all people know why." I grabbed his shoulder.

I sighed. "But it does. Pico, you can't hide from it forever you know." He shrugged me off, taking a step back.

"I can, and I am. Drop it, I don't want to ruin a potentially good day." He turned and walked the direction of the house.

I stood still for a minute, soon following him.

"Pico, we can talk about it." I tried to protest.

"Look." He snapped, whipping around to face me. "You know why I'm scared to love her. To love anyone." He sighed deeply. "Because I did once, a long time ago." His eyes cut deeply into me. "And it took everything from me."

Pico's POV-

Keith and I stared, almost like a stand off. "Now, we're dropping it." I turned back around. "End of story." I rubbed my temples.

I heard Keith stutter, but dropped it. Following me back to the house.

Once we got there we went to our own rooms. I sat down on my bed with a groan.

"Go Pico, yeah yeah, go Pico oh" I turned to look around me. Trying to find the person behind the sudden cheering. Finally landing on Y/n singing on the speakers. I smiled wide, a blush creeping on my face. 'No one has cheered for me before....' I thought.

I replayed the scene in my head many times since then. But my mind just battles it with another...

"Who here has eaten an apple?" I raised my hand fanatically, finding that I was the only one amongst my class. "Thats great Pico!" Little did I know those were her last words to me.

"Enough of this crap!" We all were shocked to see Casandra run to the front of the class, waving her gun for all to see. "The American education system is bullshit!"

And that day was what changed my life.

And Casandra.... is what changed me.

I laid down onto my bed, letting it take the weight I wish I could let go.

"I-i didn't want to kill him." The painful look in Y/n's eyes... I felt it more than she thought.

"I didn't want to kill them either..." I sighed, looking at my hands. Slowly sitting up, I looked into the crack of my closet to see my gun inside. "But... the difference between us," I walked over and grabbed it. Looking at it with a scowl. "Is, you didn't do it... and I had no choice."

Y/n POV-

Lily and I joked around for what felt like forever. As we pulled into the driveway, we quieted down when we saw the lights on.

"There home already?" Lily asked herself. Checking the clock. "Its only three..." me and her shared a look and went inside.

Lily set down her purse and walked down the hall. "Pico? Keith? You home?" She looked into their rooms. Pausing in Pico's doorframe.

I walked down nervously and went to look over her shoulder, before she quickly turned to face me with a sad smile and grabbed me. Taking me away from his room before I could see what happened.

"Keith, can you take Y/n please?" He shot up from his bed and nodded.

"Lily?" I asked, but she already left. I felt Keith grab my wrist lightly to not harm me. But I quickly turned to him, ripping my hand away. "Keith, what happened? Is Pico okay?" I started to feel anxious, breathing deeply.

"Pico's fine Y/n, don't worry." He said calmly. "But you need to stay here okay?" I took a deep breath and nodded slowly.

Keith sat back down on his bed and put on a show, turning it up pretty loud. I sat next to him, but was too focused on his door.

'Is Pico really okay...?'
