The Hope Of Coming Home

I watched the trains go by for a few hours. At this point, I was just tired.

I got up and started to walk home. But decided to take a detour by Lily and Keith's place. Making sure my hood was hiding my face well enough I walked by. Slowing down to appreciate how well it looks.

They added a new coat of paint and in the window it seems like a real place now. 'If only Pico and I could enjoy it with them.' I shook my head and walked faster.

Once reaching the apartment complex, I walked down the hall to my door. But... it was unlocked.

"I swear I fucking locked it." I mumbled, soon shrugging it off and heading inside. Double checking the lock this time.

Once inside I fell right onto my couch. Sighing deeply as I landed.

It was so late I didn't think or do anything else but lay there. Until I finally fell asleep.

Time skip-

It's been about a week since I went to the train tracks now... its a every now and then visit. So, I decided, before I went. I set up a camera facing my door this time.

I've realized how much I come home to it being unlocked. So, just to be cautious.

Once again, heading down to the place, I decided to stop by the McDonald's on the way.

I ordered my usuall and had a nice conversation with the cashier.

Deciding to just eat on the way there, I unwrapped my sandwich and took a bite. Humming happily at how good it was.

But, I stopped as I saw Lily.... at the tracks. I had no idea why, but I froze nonetheless. She wasn't facing me but I carefully backed away just in case.

All until I slipped, then she turned to me on the ground, trying to back up.

"Y/n?" She sounded so defeated. I shook my head, stood up, and ran. Painfully ignoring her calls.

Already guessing my door would be unlocked, I ran right inside. Locking the door once again.

I caught my breath and looked up at the still running camera. "Well, there's something to keep me busy." I breathed out, taking the camera and running through the footage.

"What the fuck?" I whispered. I've looked through the same video three times, still in shock.

Not to long after I left, a unknown figure slipped in somehow. Looking around my apartment and taking random food items. But that wasn't the only thing that concerned me.

"No, thats just coincidence." I shakily shrugged.

The next day, I would test it out.

Time skip (next night)-

I didn't waste any time going to the camera. And same thing.

Putting the camera down I went into my living room, looking at my picture book I've been making about my new life. Next to it I saw my pen, which was at my desk. I held my breath as I flipped through the pages and stopped at the pictures Lily took of us. Specifically the one at the Concert.

It pained me to see the picture itself, let alone hold it. But I slipped it out and turned it around to see it.... a number.

I brought the picture and pen to my desk and wrote the phone number on a sheet of paper, writing "LEAD" above it, then put it back. Shutting the book and putting it away.

'Maybe... maybe this person can help me.'
