The air blew from every direction, swaying back and forth from the force between them. My breath smoked out with every breath I took. Eyes dry from this harsh weather.

I gripped my jacket tighter against my shivering body. Looking around anxiously as I waited for my next move.

Being caught off guard, I jumped at the vibration from my pocket, pulling my phone out of my pocket.

I closed my eyes tightly with a shaky sigh. "What?" I whispered. My throat burning with every intake of air. My lungs on fire.

"You know what y/n. Get back home. Now." My body felt revolted at the voice behind the phone. Even the slight thought of him made my body quiver with fear.

"I don't think so. Have fun without me, because I'm not coming back." I started to raise my voice with confidence.

Only to have it fall at his answer.

"Then I'll bring you home myself. And the punishment will hurt more than the pain inflicted on you throught the previous years." I physically curled up and squinted my eyes, trying to focus on anything than the current scenario.

"Then come get me." I dropped the phone my my ear and hung up. Shoving the device into my pocket once again, I went inside the store I've been waiting in front of only to roam the same isle for a few hours.

I finally gathered my thoughts, grabbing bandages and some water.

After purchasing my items, I headed outside accidentally bumping into a stranger.

Keeping my cool, I took a step back. "I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention." I said in a hushed voice.

Looking at the person up and down I could tell he was pissed. He wore a lose green sweater and cargo pants with red sneakers. His ginger hair was slicked back nicely. And in all, not that bad looking. If he hadn't of done what was about to happen.

"You're good." He mumbled as well, eyeing me up and down. "What happened to you?" He gestured to the many lacerations on my body.

With out a word I glared him down, waving the bandages I bought. And walked away. I groaned to myself as I felt his cold glare against my back the whole way back to my spot.

Finally getting out of view from the public eye i bandaged the wounds and chugged my water down about half way. Only to choke at the sight of a car.

A red Ford, speeding at unreasonable speed.

Time seemed to slow as me and the driver made eye contact. He turned to the front of the car to make it towards me, but didn't look fast enough.

BOOM

I gasped and stood up, starting at a jog to a whole sprint towards the crash. Not caring about the cold anymore.

A crowd formed faster that a lion at meal time, forcing me to push through many bystanders. Yelling at them to let me through.

Finally stepping forward from the crowd, I covered my mouth. The heat of the fire from the accident let my tears flow down with ease. And my world started to numb.

Time skip-

I heard the sound of people moving around me, and I fluttered my eyes open to see that I was in a living room.

"Y/n? Thank goodness you're awake." I heard a high and sweet voice say with a sigh. Not bothering to care as to whom they are, I nodded. Sitting up slowly.

"Yeah... I'm up." I whispered to myself. Finally looking over to see, none other than my best and only friend in this world. Lily.

She smiled, showing off her dimples. Her long brown hair waving around as her head cocked to the side. "Well that's good to hear. I hope you don't mind the random visit." She crossed her legs. Resting her hands upon them.

"Visit...?" I asked. I had to think for a minute before realizing what fully happened. "My father." I said, no emotion behind the words. "He died. Didn't he?" I looked her dead in the eye.

In which she nodded. "I'm so sorry... but, you're okay to stay with me you know. I'm moving out of the state anyways." She offered sweetly.

I smiled numbely. "Sure. If its not a bother." I tried to sound genuine, hoping it was good enough.

"Of course! Its the least we can do." She clapped and stood up. Holding her hand out. "Lets go tell my folks. Its been a while since we talked."

I took her hand, surprised at how warm she was. And let her drag me off out of the room.

And while we all talked again for the first time in a long time, I smiled to myself, because since I've woken up, Lily nor her parents mentioned my wounds.

But deep down I knew they were thinking about them.

Hope yall enjoyed the chapter. And i know this is somewhat the same to the first book, but remember that this is what really happened. The "original" version was what your mind made up, were re-living the past events to find out what you've missed the past fourteen years.

I hope that makes sense, and again not all of what happened in the first book actually happened. So things are way different.

Also this is the beginning of your journey, back when you met Pico the first time.
