OK be warned. This chapter is long and a mess. Enjoy though!
(Almost 3000 words whattt)
The suit was tight. It was similar to leather but much more agile. But tight. Bucky was not comfortable. Even worse he was about to attempt to stick a tiny device to Sam's chest… that would potentially hurt. Bucky knew he was going to easily win. Sam was already acting weird today and Bucky was a super soldier with a vibranium arm! Sam couldn't do anything to him. The only disadvantage Bucky had was pure exhaustion. He was barely awake and he hoped he wouldn't literally fall asleep during the fight.
Yes, he was that tired.
He turned to glance at Sam to see him with a serious expression on his face as they fixed the top of his suit and handed him his 'spider pins' as they were calling them. Bucky already had his… all he had to do now was think of a strategy. Bucky was considering just swinging a punch at Sam and hoping for the best but he knew no matter how their relationship was now he couldn't actually hurt Sam. He was sure Sam wouldn't either. Sam wouldn't hurt him.
Sam was planning on hurting Bucky. He was going to win. He didn't care what he did to him. Also there wasn't much damage Sam could do to him anyway. Was there? Sam shook off all doubts. He had to. It would help. Help forget all previous feelings he had had. Sam adjusted the collar of his suit and glanced across the room at Bucky. He was pretending to look relaxed but Sam knew better. Bucky was slowly rotating his wrist and Sam knew Bucky did that when he was nervous. Sam felt the nerves hit him for a second but then again shook them off. He would win. He was Captain America for God sake! Of course he could win against some old man.
'Sam, come this way… Your entrance is this side.'
Sam turned to the agent. He nodded trying hard to look nonchalant. Bucky glanced over.
'Bucky, you'll be the opposite side'
Bucky nodded and stood and swayed slightly. Sam knew Bucky also did that when he was nervou-
Sam really needed to break the habit of thinking about Bucky.
He followed the agent out and to his entrance slightly shaky. No matter how much he pretended, he knew that Bucky was extremely skilled and strong and could easily beat Sam. But Sam had noticed Bucky was tired today (he was observant like that) because he kept yawning so Sam thought it might put him off his game a bit. A bit. Sam doubted it but still held on to the thought.
✨ Positive vibes ✨
'Sam! You ready?'
He glanced over to the agent at the door. He half smiled.
'Yes… I think '
She smiled and put her hand on the doors button.
'Good luck'
She pressed the button, opening the door.
'And try not to get too hurt'
Sam entered and saw Bucky was already walking through the opposite door.
'Wait… Too?'
The room was massive and there was plenty of room to… fight in. Bucky had positioned himself.
They had both been given 1 weapon - some form of stick… thing. It was basically a baton but it might help defend from the deadly vibranium arm.
Maybe.
Sam positioned himself and strolled towards Bucky trying his hardest to appear relaxed. Bucky was pretty good at pretending but Sam could see the tension in his shoulders and face.
