Sambucky - Figuring out feelings: Book 1, 2 And 3

Book 2: Chapter 23: Dinner

Yo before this starts I just have a question. So this book 2 is getting a bit long so should I switch to book 3 (Still in this story tho) or just keep adding loads of chapters? Please help meee 😂

Now to the story-

Sam adjusted his collar. Bucky and Olivia would be here soon. And then it would be time to drug Alex.

He was terrified.

If Alex realised he wouldn't trust Sam and Bucky anymore and they wouldn't have the upper hand. If they messed up everything would go wrong.

Even worse if Alex decided to control Bucky he would have to pretend. And that would go badly for Sam... And Bucky. And Olivia.

Sam had not cooked dinner. He had been but it just wasn't working so he ordered some takeout and put it on plates hoping for the best.

They'd understand.

'Sam. Are you sure you rang Bucky?'

Sam turned to the door where Alex was standing. He silently cursed.

'Yes. They'll be here soon'
'OK then'

Then the doorbell rang. Alex jumped up and went to answer.

'Ah that must be them!'

Sam finished setting the table, hearing voices from the hallway. He heard olivuas bright, happy tone and...

Bucky, attempting to sound friendly. Sam tried not to laugh. He knew how much Bucky hated Alex.

Alex walked into the room with Bucky and Olivia trailing behind. Bucky and Sam both looked to the floor.

'Hi guys! How are you both?'

Olivia turned on a charming smile and rushed over to Sam to hug him.

'Sam! How are you?'

She whispered in his ear.

'Do you have it?'

He nodded slightly. She pulled away, looking satisfied. Bucky stepped towards Sam and awkwardly went to shake his hand.

'No no you guys can hug you know!'

Alex.

Sam and Bucky exchanged a look. Sam sighed and then reached out to Bucky, pulling him into a hug. He felt Bucky freeze but then he was hugging him back.

He pulled away, walked over to the table and placed a bottle of wine down. Great.

Alcohol never went well with Sam and Bucky.

Alex clapped his hands, looking excited and gestured to everyone to sit.

'Lets eat!'

They all sat.

Silence.

Olivias smile froze. Bucky bit his lip and Sam looked at the ceiling. Alex just stayed smiling.

'So...how did you two meet, Alex?'

Alex smiled at her.

'Well... We were in high-school together. We met in our freshman year and were inseparable! Then thanks to Rhodey I got this job and now we are back together, closer then ever!'

Sam wanted to puke. But Olivia just smiled and started eating. What a great actor.

Bucky however...

He was staring at his plate, obviously struggling with his emotions. Sam felt bad. Maybe he could-

'So Bucky, how did you and Sam get to know each other? I know you two are close friends!'
