Book 2: Chapter 13: Catch Up

Sam walked towards the man who stood a few metres away.

'Alex?'

The man turned and on noticing Sam broke out into a wide smile.

'Sam!'

He moved away from the group of people who he was with and before Sam could react had thrown his arms around him in a tight hug. Sam swayed on his feet slightly as he was knocked back by the strength of the man.

Alex.

Alex pulled away and looked Sam in the eye.

'We have so much to discuss! Come over here now' He led Sam over to the injured people and... Rhodey. Sam sighed in relief. Thank god he was OK.

Zemo was nowhere to be seen.

Bucky

Bucky walked over to Zemo who had backed away from everyone after more emergency services had came. He didn't want to be put back in jail.

Zemo took Bucky by the arm wordlessly and began leading him to the plane they had come in. He didn't speak but shot Bucky a concerned look.

Bucky knew what it was about.

They made their way up the steps onto the plane. Zemo would have to go soon. After everyone had sorted out the fire they'd notice the plane and he would be sent back to the raft.

Now that Bucky was on the plane he turned off his mask of contentment. He was mad.

Really mad.

Zemo had his back to Bucky now, mixing... Something? A drink maybe.

'You should really get that cut checked out, James'
'I'm fine'

Zemo turned around holding a small container of...something and made his way over to Bucky. He sat beside him on the couch and before he could react had dabbed some ointment on his face.

'Ah what are you doing?!'

Bucky leaned away from Zemo and brought his hand up to his face. Oh.

The pain was slowly lessening. He shot Zemo a confused look.

'What is that?'
'It's to help with the pain!'

Bucky rolled his eyes and moved back over to Zemo. He let him put the ointment on his cut wincing in pain.

'So James... Who is that man Sam was talking to?'

At the mention of the man, Bucky began to look annoyed again.

'I don't know. Sam called him Alex'

Zemo nodded and continued applying the ointment to Bucky's face. Bucky bit his lip as his hand strayed near the word 'weak' cut into his face. Zemo gave Bucky a sympathetic look.

'I'm sorry this happened James'
'Its fine'

Zemo moved away and stood up.

'It'll be OK for a short while but you'll need to get it checked out by actual doctors'

Bucky put his head down. Zemo could tell he didn't want to go back outside.
