"Lilith... Lilith... wake up... Lilith!" Her eyes snapped open. The sky was purple and black, like a dark, ugly bruise. There was smoke and ash everywhere in the air and a ringing in her ears. She was lying on the ground, so pushed herself up on her elbows. As she did she saw, her home demolished and the surrounding area destroyed. She saw an alien army turning to dust around her and her family in tears. She turned to her right and saw her father, laying on the ground beside her, eyes glazing over, breaths quick and panicked.
"Lilith... y-you have..." He wheezed, "you have to live..."
"Dad?" Her voice shook as she felt her world crumbling around her.
"It's okay, Lilith, you're going to be okay..."
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no... Dad no!"
"I love you Lee Lee. I'll always love you. I'll see you later."
"No, wait-"
🥀🥀🥀
"No!" Lilith sat up abruptly, still alone in the quinjet, "Well that was... what the hell was that? Traumatizing? I should've punched her." She waited for her heart beat to slow before tapping her earpiece and tuning back into the fight.
"Find the scepter," Thor was saying.
"And for gosh sake, watch your language!" Lilith laughed slightly. She knew they were okay, but hearing their voices helped.
"That's never going away is it?"
"Nope," Lilith giggled. What had Wanda done? Must've been something to do with her worst fears... losing her father was definitely something she was terrified of... She shook her head, clearing it. She'd think about it later.
The fighting continued and Lilith stayed in the quinjet, listening to her family speak to each other through the coms.
"Clint, on your-"
"Ugh!"
"Left..."
"What, you didn't see that coming?" The heavily accented teenager laughed at Clint as he stood up.
"Oh boy. Clint, say hi to Pietro."
"Hi."
"Bye," Pietro sped away and Clint, too distracted by the silver-haired boy to notice other problems, was shot in the leg.
"Ah, shit!"
"Watch your mouth. You okay Barton?"
"I'll be fine, sweetheart, don't worry about me, Nat's coming now."
"Got it. We have an enhanced in the field, guys. Chances are if he's here, his sister is in the building defending the scepter. Her abilities are more advanced than his. We're talking mind control, telekinesis, telepathy, that kinda thing. Be careful. Be on guard. And most importantly, have fun."
"Ha ha, Lilith," Steve deadpanned, "that was cute."
"Thanks Cap," Lilith said slyly, "You're not so bad to look at yourself. For a seventy-five-year-old popsicle."
"You're on a roll today, L."
"Why thank you, Stevie."
