"You mean to tell me," Lilith began her question, "that you plan to parade around Asgard, pretending to be your adoptive father and you think it will work because everyone here will love you because they'll think you died in some heroic way during a battle?"

"Yes, basically."

"Why?"

Loki shrugged, "Because I wanted to."

"That's-" Lilith struggled to find the words, "You're ridiculous."

"Thank you."

"He's safe, right? The real Odin?"

"Yes. I brought him to a home for the elderly on Midgard. Just a few hours before I found you."

"Okay... I guess that's not so bad?" She shook her head to clear her thoughts, deciding that getting involved with godly family issues was not her job and refocused herself on something she deemed more important.

"Is there... is there any way for me to tell my family I'm okay?"

"I'm afraid not."

"Oh."

"I'm sorry there's no way for you to contact them. Truly I am... We'll go back for a visit someday. I promise." Lilith nodded.

"Okay."

"We'll find a way for you to get in touch with them. I promise."

"Thank you." This was insane. She was abandoning everyone she loved to stay on an entirely new planet with the god of mischief. But it felt like the right decision. Why did it feel so right? It couldn't be, could it? She pushed the negative thoughts to the back of her mind. She felt guilty for leaving so suddenly, but... she loved him. Oh, she loved him so much. The moment she realised it was him in the hallway at the Barton's she couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of joy. She had missed him so much and he was finally here with her. In person this time, not a dream, not an illusion, just him. Loki. The god of mischief. And she loved him.

"I love you," Her lips betrayed her thoughts, spilling her heart onto the floor.

"What?"

"I love you. We've... we've said it before, haven't we? In a dream?"

"Yes, I believe we have. It's just..."

"Different?"

"Yes, but..." He paused, smiling down at her, "I love you."

"You do?"

"Of course I do. Are you mad? I've loved you since the first time we met. I mean, really met. You knew there was something wrong, that I needed help. And you... you helped me. I guess I've never really thanked you for that."

"There's no need." She pushed on to her tip-toes and pecked him gently on the nose.

"Thank you," He said anyways, "Thank you for everything."

"I said you don't need-"

"I want to." He smiled at her and she returned it with a pearly-white grin.

"Thank you for thanking me."

"You're welcome."

"This is nice," Lilith claimed after a moment.

"Yes, it is. Maybe I'll ruin it by mentioning the time you tried to kill me."

"I haven't tried to kill you," she giggled, "Yet."

"You," Loki mumbled, "Are a truly exasperating little girl."

"And you," Lilith taunted, "Are a douchewad."

"Pardon me?" The god questioned, lifting his head off of the mattress to raise an eyebrow at her.

"Douchewad, noun: And incredibly insufferable being who's sole purpose is being frustrating and stupid. Douchewad." She shrugged.

"Insufferable and stupid?" Loki asked, raising his brows, "Is that how you see me?"

"On occasion," She smirked. The god brought a hand up to her face and traced a finger along her jaw until he was holding her chin, caressing her bottom lip with his thumb.

"Are you sure?" His voice was low and smooth.

"No..." Lilith mumbled. She held eye contact as he leaned closer, their faces mere centimeters apart, "Loki..."

"Yes, my love?" he whispered.

"You're being a douchewad," She whispered in response. And with that comment, she poked out her tongue slightly and ducked away from his reach. The god groaned in annoyance.

"Come back here," he whined.

"No."

"Why not?"

"I don't want to. You come here."

"Ridiculous," He said, making his way towards her and rolling his eyes. Lilith giggled as he wrapped his arms tightly around her waist and lifted her up,  twirling her around in a circle. When he put her down, they were face to face again.

"No escaping this time, Darling."

"Good," She giggled before pushing herself onto her tip-toes and pressing her lips against his once more. Her stomach burst with butterflies and she leaned further into the kiss. Their lips moved in sync and she felt dizzy with excitement and overwhelmed by the blissful feeling washing over her. She didn't notice she had her hands tangled in Loki's hair until she accidentally tugged on his black locks and he inhaled sharply through his nose.

"Sorry," She breathed when they pulled apart for a moment.

"I'm fine," He responded, panting slightly, "Are you alright?"

"Fine, why?"

"Just checking," The god smiled at her, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"Can I tell you a secret?" Lilith grinned, her face still slightly flushed.

"Anything, Darling."

"It's a little embarrassing," She laughed.

"I promise not to laugh," Loki said, a smirk appearing on his face, "maybe."

"Okay so," she pulled away from his embrace, walking to sit on the bed and gesturing for him to do the same. He fell back onto the mattress and turned his head to look at her, a smile etched into his features.

"Today" Lilith began, "You kissed me over there, and over there," She gestured to the spots they had stood during the more intimate moments of the day, "That first spot there? That's where I had my first kiss." Loki sat upon his elbows and raised his eyebrows at her.

"No."

"Yes. That was it."

"Really?" Lilith nodded in response, chuckling slightly at his incredulous expression.

"I have never kissed anyone else," She shrugged, "Especially not like that."

"How?"

"I was homeschooled. I was still a minor when I reached college, so one-night-stands and random make-out sessions were way off the table. Dating was never my top priority... I don't know. I never really thought about it that much."

"Oh," Loki's brows creased slightly as he began to worry, "I wasn't aware... I ruined it, didn't I? Your first kiss should have been more... special. I'm sorry, Darling."

"Don't worry about it. Our actual first kiss was in a dream. It was incredibly special, but... it wasn't nearly as real. This time you're really here. With me. Nothing could be better than this." She smiled at him and he returned her grin.

"Alright. It was rather exciting, if I do say so myself," He agreed, sighing contentedly. Lilith leaned back onto the mattress and turning her head to look at the god.

"So what now?"

"Now," Loki said, standing from the bed and offering the young woman his hand to help her up, "Now we address my subjects."
