"Good morning, my love," a soft voice said to him, brushing his long dark hair away from his eyes and pulling him from his sleep. He groaned in annoyance. These memory-like dreams had become more and more frequent. Every time he closed his eyes she seemed to be there. Lilith Stark smiled at him in the early morning light, her hair sprawled across the pillows and her eyes shining.
"Hello, Darling," he mumbled, his voice still rough with sleep.
"Hi," she giggled. He couldn't help but smile back at her. The dreams had become increasingly frustrating, but her presence in them had not. Every time a dream like this began, his heart leapt in his chest. He was excited to see her, even if she was just a dream. She was always angry or frustrated or confused with him in the dreams where they spoke in the field, but here... here he could sleep next to her and hold her and not feel like he was at fault for his feelings. He could love her in these dreams.
"How did you sleep?"
"Wonderfully," she replied, "And you?"
"The same as you, darling."
"Good." She looked at him lovingly before taking her pillow out from underneath her and smacking him in the face with it.
"Ah!" She giggled as she stood from the bed and wrapped her robe around her. A surprised look appeared on her features when he stood from the bed to chase after her with a pillow of his own. She shrieked with glee as she rushed away from him, only to be scooped up in his arms from behind.
"Why do you always run? You know I'll catch you."
"I know, I know. It's just more fun that way," She sucked in a breath as he planted a kiss in the crook of her neck.
"I'm sure it is, Darling." Another kiss. Her skin smelled sweet, like roses. He couldn't get enough of it.
"How did you know?"
"Know what?" Another kiss.
"How did you know you were in love with me?"
"The dreams, Angel. Whenever I dreamt of you, I was warm, and happy, and the world was bright and beautiful. When I woke up... you were gone. And you took the sun with you when you left." He shouldn't love her. Sometimes he hated that he did. He was a god. She was a mortal. It frustrated him to no end. He missed the young woman who had come to his cell and interrogated him. He hated how he hurt her. He hated knowing she could never and would never love him as he loved her. But he knew deep down in his cold, dark, heart that he deserved this pain, this anguish. She would never love him in reality. But in dreams... he snapped himself out of his thoughts and sighed deeply.
"What's wrong my love?"
He didn't want to say it. He didn't want to admit that his happiness was false. He wanted the lie to continue. But it simply could not, or it would destroy him.
"This isn't real."

Steve had been sent to find Helen Cho and make sure she was alright. He had found her easily and she had told them to get the cradle containing Ultron's new body to Tony as fast as they could.
"There," Lilith pointed through the windshield of the jet, "It's a truck from the lab!"
"Right above you, Cap," Clint said, "On the loop by the bridge. It's them. I got three in the cradle, one in the cab. I could take out the driver."
