She smacked against something hard and cold with a thud and a sickening crack. A shooting pain ripped through her leg -she had broken it upon impact.

"Son of a bitch!" She choked on the exclamation, the wind knocked out of her lungs. Coughing and sobbing, she opened her eyes. Expecting the grassy plains to greet her, she was surprised when she saw the sleek interior of some form of aircraft.

"Quiet down," A woman's rough voice said from the front of the ship, "We'll uh... oh that's nasty. We'll get that fixed up in just a minute."

"Where the hell am I?" Lilith winced in pain as she tried to move.

"Sakaar."

"What's Sakaar?"

"Kind of like the universe's garbage can or lost-and-found or something. Don't worry. Pretty thing like you? The Grand Master will love you."

"I have so many questions," Lilith sucked a sharp breath in as the ship took a turn and jostled her injured leg.

"Let's see. The Grand Master is in charge of Sakaar, like our king or our emperor or something. Mostly he's like a weird uncle. I'm bringing you to him because I'm his favorite scrapper, I bring him his best fighters and his most loved... let's say, acquaintances. You," she looked over her shoulder and gave Lilith a once over, "will be an acquaintance."

"Absolutely not."

"I mean, if you'd rather fight..."

"I'd certainly prefer to--"

"Didn't think so. We're here. I'll tell the healers to be careful with you."

"What's your name?"

"Doesn't matter."

"I want to know your name. You saved me, and I'd like to thank you."

"Call me Val," She said, landing the craft and opening the back hatch. A group of people moved to place her on a stretcher, "Careful with this one, she's for the Grand Master."

She winced and cursed under her breath when one of them moved her leg wrong, "Thank you, Val."

"Yeah, shut up, pretty girl." Lilith caught a glimpse of the woman before she closed the hatch and took off again. Wild black ponytail, copper skin, determined expression.

The people -Lilith assumed they were the healers- moved her to a large room full of strange equipment. One of them pointed to something and then to her face, "Calm, yes?"

Lilith nodded slowly, hesitant. The woman put the contraption over Lilith's head and slowly but surely, Lilith fell asleep.

The voice sounded far away, but it was certainly there.

"Lilith? Lilith!"

"Hello?" She called out to the mysterious voice, "Hello?"

"I'm here, Darling, can you hear me?"

"Loki..."

"Yes, Darling. It's me, where are you? Can you tell me where you are?"

"I'm... here."

"Where are you? Lilith? Lilith!"

When she awoke, she was no longer in the room with the machines. She had been moved to a large room with white and blue walls, the patterns geometric and disorienting. She was laying on an enormous bed, the mattress placed inside of the skull of some long-dead creature she had no name for. She sat up and threw the comforter off of her. Her leg no longer bent in ways it wasn't meant to and when she touched it she felt no discomfort, let alone the fierce pain that had ripped through her before she had been put under the anesthetic.
