"Darling," The god tucked a loose hair behind the young woman's ear, repeating the motion a few times until she turned over in the bed to face him.
"Good morning," She smiled.
"Good morning," Loki placed his hand on her face, letting his thumb caress her cheekbone.
"What's the time?"
"I don't know." Lilith giggled at his response. He continued, beginning to laugh with her, "I don't care. I'm just glad you're here."
"I'm glad too." Lilith let out a sigh, gazing at the god of mischief with admiration, "But..."
"But?"
"Don't you need to be in a different room, your Majesty?"
"Ah, perhaps. But I'm so content here with you that I'm inclined to call the whole charade off. You know, Tell everyone I'm alive and my father... took a trip to Midgard."
"Would it be so bad if you did?"
"Probably. People wouldn't like that I went so far as to masquerade as their king and fake my death to gain their favor."
"Good point," Lilith said. The god hummed thoughtfully.
"Maybe I should be going."
"Stay."
"But you just said-"
"I know," Lilith shifted closer to Loki on the mattress and kissed him softly on the lips. The god smiled into the kiss and kissed her back. He pulled away after a moment, and watched as Lilith closed her eyes, snuggling further into the blankets and closer to his chest.
"Stay," She whispered.
"Always," He replied. It was nearly two hours later when they finally decided to get up. Loki stood and stretched as Lilith watched from beneath the sheets, still too comfortable to remove herself from the bed's warmth. He walked about the room, throwing open curtains and the terrace doors. The wardrobe sat across the room, facing the foot of the bed. Loki had informed her that the dress she had worn yesterday and her clothes from Earth had been placed inside, along with a few other Asgardian garments he had magically conjured up. He urged her to choose the green gown, but when she finally dragged herself from beneath the comforter and browsed the options, she settled on a simple white gown with gold trimmings. It looked simple yet elegant, and if she were to be honest, it looked more comfortable than the green one.
She slipped behind the four-paneled changing screen that stood a few feet away from the wardrobe and climbed out of the pajamas Loki had materialized for her. The gown was mercifully uncomplicated, she only had to step into it and pull it over her body. She only needed assistance with lacing up the back. Loki stepped around the screen and carefully tightened and tied the white ribbon, securing the dress.
"Thank you," Lilith breathed. She had been holding her breath unknowingly as he laced up the back of the dress.
"Of course," he pecked her on her forehead, "Unfortunately, I must be going. The servants will get suspicious if the king doesn't summon them for breakfast soon."
"Will the king be needing anything from me before he goes?"
"No, thank you. I hate to leave, but I'll see you soon. We have a walk around the palace gardens on the schedule. And a tour of the kingdom. I know it sounds boring but-"
"I don't think it sounds boring. I'd love to see the grounds and the cities and all of the places you used to play as a kid."
"Well in that case you should be thrilled about the final thing on the agenda."
