A/n: sorry, this one is also long lol

I was up bright and early the next morning. When I got up and checked out where we had dinner, I saw that only two people fell asleep over there rather than in their tents. I chuckled and kicked both of their feet.

"Rise and shine, time to get going," I said. They grumbled and groaned the entire time, but did end up getting up. As I looked around the rest of our camp site, I saw the others waking up or already awake and just self reflecting for a minute. Peggy came up from around the corner, and I smiled at her.

"Get any sleep last night or did you all trade stories all night long?" I asked her when she got up to where I was standing.

She laughed slightly and looked out beyond the trees with me. "We all decided to go to bed at some point. Definitely not as early as you, however." She nudged my shoulder and I rolled my eyes with a smile. "Nothing too important though. Thompson talked a bit about his Navy Cross," she added, giving me a side-eye.

I looked at her, confused. "What's with the look?" I asked, narrowing my eyes.

"What look? I certainly have no idea what you mean?" She shrugged and looked up and away from me making it even more obvious.

"I don't know if this is what you are implying with that look, but I don't having anything for Agent Thompson other than respect since he's my coworker. Nothing more, nothing less." Peggy rolled her eyes and I could tell she didn't believe me.

I was prepared to stand and talk with Peggy for a bit longer, but then we started to move out towards the location. At this point, I still had no idea where we were going and what was really going on- I was just along for the ride.

When we did stop driving, I found myself looking at a distant factory like facility. Of course, we all knew there was more to it than that. Thompson was ahead looking at it with his binoculars. It looked like we were alone, and that was the ideal situation.

"Looks like we beat the bad guys here," he said, confirming my thoughts.

Dugan scoffed lightly beside me. "So we could have slept for another hour?" he asked.

Peggy rolled her eyes lightly and turned to him. "Well, then we wouldn't have the advantage of surprise, would we, Timothy?" she asked and gave him a smack on the back. I stopped a laugh from coming out and disguised it as a cough, because Dugan sent me a small glare. He was clearly not amused, while Peggy and I were.

After a small argument about teams, I ended up going with Thompson, Ramirez, Happy Sam, and Pinkerton. Peggy went with the others. "Don't do anything stupid," I mumbled to her as I walked over to Thompson. She sent a smile back to me, and we were off.

Peggy and the others went inside the building one way and I followed Thompson in another way. I felt awkward not saying a word to him the entire time, but we were busy looking out for each other and ensuring no one was going to jump out from behind the wall and shoot us. A very high stress situation and I was worried about the awkwardness between me and Thompson. My priorities need to be figured out.

We came to a hallway with a split, and we all looked to Thompson for guidance. "What do we do?" Ramirez quietly asked. He was the one brave enough to actually speak our shared question.

He looked at us for a second, and then down both corridors. "You three," he started, gesturing towards Ramirez, Happy Sam, and Pinkerton, "are going to stay here on watch. Jones and I are going to go down this first one and see what he find. Listen for us in case we need backup or anything."

The three men nodded, and Thompson looked at me. I nodded, showing I was ready for this, and we went down the shorter of the two corridors. At the end, Thompson carefully opened the door and I popped into the room with my gun up and ready. There was nothing there, so I walked in even further.
