"What do you mean? How-?"
Denzel was already feeling the backlash of such news and took his first step on the the stairs while his older brother looked down at him with a saddened gaze
"Apparently the chili that's on the table is spiked with something, probably poisoned if I'm reading the room correctly...could of been a heart attack but I doubt that- she was as fit as a fiddle"

Chan spoke out- his tone clearly indicating he had been crying for quite some time.
"I- Who would do something like this?"

Vincent gazed at the last remaining Klowd and sighed
"Your guess is as good as mine, kiddo"
M on
"That's a FAT load of HORSE SHIT"
everyone besides Vincent was surprised at Denzel's sudden outburst

"What're you-"
Vincent started but was cut off by his kid brother
"We know EXACTLY who did this- the only people who had anything against Chan and Ms.Klowd. Though I don't understand why they would do something this evil...but... it's definitely not beyond them"

Vincent shook his head
"With no evidence..it's unlikely the law will do anything about it and plus I-If anything they should have problem with us"

"Since when do we CARE about what the LAW does, Vincent?-wait what do you mean "us" what did we do?"
The statement the reckless boy made only sent a shiver down Vincent's back as he stomped his boot against the wooden floor not bothering to even answer that second half of Denzel's outburst
"WE are NOT above anyone, Denzel- why can't you understand that? Being civil about this is the only way to keep us from falling into the category of the SCUMMY filth you aspire so much to be"

Denzel has had about enough of this self righteous older brother talk- he knows all too well of how Vincent truly feels
"I didn't know her as well as you- I expected a bit more of an effort from you than just-"

Vincent stepped off the stairs and forced the smaller boy to back up as he approached.
"Dont...you....Dare-"
The two brothers glared at each other for a moment in silence. Mikah wasn't sure how to go about this but he thought it best not to interfere when the brothers argued- Chan on the other hand
"HEY-!"
The three look towards the mouse as he spoke again
"Bickering amongst yourselves won't bring my mama back, nor will it help us catch whoever did this..I apologize if I'm speaking out of line but you guys need to focus on this!"

Denzel was still livid but even he knew the mouse was right and took another step back as he basically awaited for his brother to say something, which he did, shortly after taking in what Chan said.
"Go back to the house, take your friend with you while I stay with Chan and ask around to see if anyone saw anything"

Denzel didn't quite like that plan for the main reason that he wasn't apart of it, wanting nothing more than to help but he scoffed as he turned away from his brother then walked off with his feline friend- not uttering another word.

Chapter 4:
"Flaws Of God's Creativity"
January 20th 1906

Mikah layed on Denzel's bed and looked up at the ceiling with his right leg laying over his raised left knee, bouncing it slowly while listening to Denzel rant on and on about the situation that transpired not even eleven minutes ago. Though Mikah hadn't known the Klowd's at all- he felt remorse for Chan since he too knew the feeling of losing a parent but also for Denzel due to his passion for wanting justice and not being able to get it. Denzel wasn't exactly taking this lightly either seems like he started to burn fumes as soon as they stepped into the house and super sure of himself that Lenard was behind it all.

Sure the feline sorta liked hearing Denzel talk but at this point, the munk was stressing himself out- consistently walking back and forth and throwing gas on his own flame was definitely an unhealthy way of handling this. Mikah sits up and sighs as he watched Denzel walk back and forth in front of the bed until the cat finally had enough and leaned forward, grabbing the rodent by the arm, surprising him as he was pulled onto the bed.
